Social media can sometimes be a place of judgement and expectations. Let’s remember everyone is running their own race and every single achievement is just that… an achievement🥹🩷🫶🏻

I love to do hard things just to prove to myself that I can🩷

I’m a 29 year old runner who’s kind of embarrassed to admit that…🥴🏃🏻‍♀️

• I check my pace approximately 47 times per kilometre.
• I compare my pace to people who have been running for years.
• I feel like a fraud calling myself a runner some days.
• I’ve finished a run and immediately checked whether my pace was embarrassing.
• I still can’t believe I actually ran a half marathon.
• I feel personally attacked when my Garmin says my run was unproductive.
• I spend more time planning my runs than actually running sometimes.
• I get excited about new running gear like it’s a personality trait.
• I need music, a podcast or a very specific playlist to survive a run.
• I’ve run further than I thought I could, but still don’t feel like a ‘proper’ runner.
• I’ve signed up for a race and then wondered why on earth I did that.

Surely I’m not the only one??😅

Your turn… what are you embarrassed to admit about running?👇🏻
