Sad Warning 😿:
Just as RuPaw's Drag Race is a love letter to the entire drag community & beyond, this post is my love letter to the kitty girl who made this silly little account pawsible all these years and to all of her fans & followers who have become our chosen family always & fur-ever 💖
.
Laila was healthy & happy and snuggly right up to her last days when a cancer swooped in and took over in the course of just 48 hours. She was in my arms, head tucked in my elbow, just as she was when she first came into my life 19 years ago 💕
.
19 is our number. I, her biological mother (😹) birthed sweet baby Lai when I was just 19 and we spent 19 inseparable years together. She was my family. She filled the void of the mom & dad I never had and took care of me, ever loyal, always holding my paw and fur that I will fur-ever be so thankful 💓
.
RuPaw's started as a joke and stayed because it made people laugh 🤣 (and because Laila just so happened to love to dress in drags haha 🙏🏼 #SignaturePose 👑). She was shown on @rupaulsdragrace race Season 9, episode 4 🙀, on @comedycentral , in @cats_the_mewvie on @netflix , talked about on @npr and because of her participation in a PRIDE 🌈campaign and through her annual calendar sales 📆 AND 💯% because of ALL of MEW, Lai has raised and donated over 120k to @aliforneycenter 💖 Not too shabby fur a little tabby from the woods of Maine!

X-mas came early! because of all of MEW, Laila's spirit has been able to donate $3,050 in calendar sales so far to @plannedparenthood 💕Because of the incredible & unforgettable kindness of a squirrel friend that we love so much (🙏🏼💗) $10,000 has been donated in Lai's honor to @plannedparenthood 💕 and because all donations are being doubled until 12/31/22, that means in total:
