@ruralking was one of the first dates Rocky and I went on in Kentucky, and now it’s at the center of so much that we do on our homestead! 🐓 🐐 It’s actually exciting to jump into all of our fall projects now, with this crispy fall weather and actual functioning gear. 😅 If you have one near you, you’ll probably quickly realize that they have EVERYTHING! But you can also shop online, there’s a link in my bio 😘

Feeding 100 chickens is a lot easier when I can refill their feeders without stepping inside the coop. 😂🐓

Our PVC gravity feeders fill from the outside, and the feed drops down as the chickens eat.

I use layer pellets from Rural King because they work well in these feeders and my chickens waste less than they did with crumble. The feeder design also helps keep them from scratching feed all over the ground.

Less wasted feed, fewer refills, and one less reason to climb into the coop. 🙌

How do you feed your flock?

With 100 chickens, I find out pretty quickly what’s worth buying again. 😂🐓

These are a few things I keep stocked from Rural King:

🥚 Layer feed keeps my laying flock fed every day. I use pellets in our PVC feeders to help cut down on waste.

🪺 Nesting pads help keep eggs cleaner and make refreshing the nesting boxes easier.

🌿 Hemp bedding absorbs moisture and makes cleanup easier in our nesting room.

Nothing fancy, just supplies that earn their spot on my monthly shopping list.

What’s one thing you always keep stocked for your chickens?

Beekeeping 101: How to keep bees off your frames when harvesting honey! 🍯 🐝

Using a cooler when harvesting honey makes the process so much easier! No more fighting to keep bees off of everything. I’m so thankful for all of the experienced beekeepers I’ve learned from over the years!
