Wrapped up another unforgettable weekend with @warheroesonwater and couldn’t be more grateful to be apart of one of the coolest traditions in Newport taking combat veterans fishing! If you haven’t had the chance to experience it I highly recommend being apart of it next year, it’s an experience that can’t even be put into words. For those who have been asking we will be doing a celebration of life and spreading of ashes for our friend and long time Freelance Sportfishing captain and crew member Nik Rotkowitz. We will be holding the service onboard the Freelance tomorrow and will be departing Daveys Locker around 5:30ish. Everyone is welcome to join us and we will have some snacks and beverages available on the boat as well. The address is 400 Main Street Newport Beach, California. Feel free to call, DM, or text me or @bigtomfishin for any additional info. Keep in mind the peninsula can be tricky with parking so make sure to arrive a little early. We are online for some 3/4 day island trips starting this Wednesday fishing for halibut, sheephead, and seabass in the shallows while also doing some cod drifts to fill the bags. Wednesday-Friday will be 375$ pp (everything included except your lunch) and @mitchy_0023 plans on going fishing so if you wanna join give our landing a call at 949.675.0550 or hit the link in our bio to book! Sportboat Shirts X Freelance Sportfishing
The Freelance is primarily operated by Rusty Padia. The boat runs out of Newport Landing in Newport Beach, California.
Rustys History: Growing up I spent most of my summers on the Freelance. One of the main captains Sharif, showed me the ropes. I started getting a paycheck on the Freelance when I was 16, and have been there for the last 13 years. I got my captains license when I was 21 and have been running the boat ever since. Last year I got the opportunity to be a part of the landings new 6 pack operation, the Blackfish, which I also run a few days a week

@blackfishsportfishing is back online and as clean and beautiful as ever! They have local half day trips online Thursday-Sunday from 9am-3pm! They will be targeting sheephead, whitefish, bass, and maybe even a halibut on these local trips! 175$pp and that includes rods, tackle, gear, snacks, water, coffee, and more!
