🏆 Rutgers University–Newark has been named an "Institution of the Year" by @theeduledger as part of its inaugural IMPACT Awards!

Rutgers–Newark ranked second among just six institutions nationwide and was the only institution in New Jersey and the Northeast to receive the recognition, honoring measurable impact in student success, research, access, social mobility and institutional transformation.

“What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that it reflects the results we see across every part of our mission,” said @chancellortonyasmithjackson. “Rutgers-Newark is proving that academic excellence, groundbreaking research, and student success go hand in hand.”

📈 The recognition follows another recent achievement for RU–N: being ranked #1 in New Jersey and #6 in the nation for Social Mobility by U.S. News & World Report.

Policy & Impact Brief: Women Enter Public Service Sooner, But They Don’t Usually Stay Longer

New research from #RutgersSPAA Assistant Professor Tiana Marrese tests the assumption that employment in the government and nonprofit sectors is better for women (more flexible, more inclusive, more mission-driven). Following a cohort of millennials from adolescence through 2019, the study separates two distinct decisions: the choice to take a job in a sector and the choice to stay in the job.
