I've been reading a fair bit of @sirkenrobinson recently - to help my son in his early years educational journey. We have had the luck of having one of the most inspirational teachers I've come across in my short but fun-packed journey into primary school education.

But what I'm reading goes beyond how we can get the best out of our educational systems, it's also massively true for my work, my life, my systems. To get the best out of yourself and your business, you have to be able to have the conviction to zig when others zag. Especially when the conformities of the norm are restrictive, uninspiring and unengaging.

ON A COMMERCIAL BREAK!

It's been a whirlwind of activity at The Agency of One HQ. Lots of new things, like a new house and some new people to work with. As such, I have not been very social on social media.

And that's OK. Being a slave to the (algo) rhythm needs to sometimes take a back seat, especially when your back seat has children, packing boxes, and a drive-through dinner in it.

But I have a desk now and some fun new projects in the pipeline, so do like we all do on a commercial break and make a cuppa, have a loo break and settle back into the sofa just in time for the action to restart.

Monday vibes. Let’s be having’ you.

G’day new followers and old friends. A few things about me:
1. Australian is not my native tongue. I like a good cup of Rosy Lee in my Aussie mug from my 🇬🇧 Motherland.

2. I work with people all over the globe.

3. I love old books. But cannot stand the smell of them. 🤢

4. If I wasn’t a designer, I wanted to be an architect. The apple doesn’t fall far from the 🌳.

Got any projects collecting Pixel Dust*?

I have a folder in the Cloud that I brain dump anything and pretty much everything when I have longer ideas that don't fit on a sticky note. My golden threads of awesomeness that pop into my head and refuse to leave until I have committed them to 'LFOTCD'.

It started when I wrote my entire website, which is still on my to-do list. (!) I have rants, raves, love notes, apologies, forthright commentaries, and amazing ideas of awesomeness that are waiting for my work diary to catch up with the reality of my working week. But in the meantime, they are there, safe and sound, but collecting pixel dust until the time is right to unleash this awesomeness into the world.

TOO MANY IDEAS, NOT ENOUGH STORAGE SPACE.

The good thing? 90% is still relevant.
The other 10% can stay collecting Pixel Dust.

Today we visited the newly reopened WA Museum Boola Bardip.

And boy, it was worth the 4 odd years of wait.
I’m still trying to understand the story of the architecture from the outside, but boy, they nailed the interior.
The textures, materials and connection between old and new is brilliant.
Congratulations to @wamuseum #boolabardip, the architects, builders, all the IT geeks that made interactive components in every room and museum curators.
