I have a secret postcard in the RWA Auction (Royal West of England Academy, Bristol) Obviously can't show it here Cos it's a secret. This one is a previous entry. I think this week is the last chance to view and bid. All proceeds go to supporting the RWA. 100 works on display by @ruthpiper

Plenty of tree drama on Lewesdon Hill, on Tuesday. A very cool place in a heatwave if you can make the climb. The car was parked in full sun. On our return the interior was 37 degrees. A bit hot we thought! #piperstudio #dorsetcontemporarypainters #lewesdonhilldorset by @ruthpiper
WIP - its taken a while to find myself in a new location. From busy city to sea, fabulous countryside and a very friendly relaxed community. The painting stalled for a while with too many distractions but focus is returning. by @ruthpiper
On the rather hot studio wall today. Trying to get myself included with my current old favourite tree. Trees are my delight. Being an air sign I need to ground myself in some way everyday. Dorset has many beautiful old trees that will certainly out live us humans. I find this knowledge very comforting. WIP - acrylic on canvas 90 x 95cm by @ruthpiper
