AD// Why buy a dress for one night when you can rent the wardrobe of your dreams for the entire festive season? 🪩✨

I’m officially partnering with @hirestreetuk to ditch the single-wear panic buying this year. Renting partywear is not only so much kinder to your bank account and the planet, but it’s completely hassle-free; they even take care of all the dry-cleaning for you! You just wear, enjoy, and return. 🙌

Which one gets your vote? Let me know in the comments below! 👇

Rapunzel isn’t just a captive princess, she’s a blueprint for Autistic joy and dysregulation. 🎨☀️

While her tower isolation accounts for her lack of real-world experience and trauma, her cognitive processing style is very neurodivergent. From her hyper-fixations to her rapid emotional shifts, Rapunzel processes the world at maximum intensity.

Why Rapunzel could be neurodivergent:
🖼️ Rotational Special Interests: Her opening song outlines a highly structured, hyper-fixated routine of arts, sciences, and physical skills that keep her dopamine levels regulated.
🌳 Sensory Seeking & Overload: Her first step onto the grass is an overwhelming, tactile, sensory experience; she engages with the world through intense sensory exploration.
💖 Extreme Emotional Oscillations: Her rapid, swinging pendulum between immense euphoria and crushing guilt reveals deep emotional dysregulation and intense internal moral conflict.

Rapunzel shows the beauty of an unmasked, passionate mind finally given the space to expand. 🌸✨

Christina Applegate’s recent news that doctors misdiagnosed her with MS after five years of worsening symptoms is a living nightmare… 🔬

As heavy as a chronic illness diagnosis is, it brings answers, clarity, and a treatment plan. Having that stripped away leaves you back at square one in total medical limbo. 🏥

What happened to her isn’t an isolated mistake, it’s a systemic issue that women face every single day:

🩺 Dismissed Symptoms: In the UK, women presenting with autoimmune symptoms are 74% more likely than men to be told their illness is psychological or stress-related.
⏰ Lengthy Delays: 1 in 3 women wait four years or longer just to get an accurate formal diagnosis.
👨‍⚕️Medical Misogyny: From long waiting lists to patchy specialist access, women are routinely left fighting to be believed while their health deteriorates.

This hits so close to home for me. I spent years fighting for answers, getting pushed aside, and wasn’t diagnosed with coeliac disease until I was 30 years old.

If you’re currently struggling to get doctors to take your symptoms seriously: you are not crazy, and you are not making it up. Please don’t let anyone gaslight you about your own body.

Have you experienced diagnostic delays or medical gaslighting? 💬👇

Five years. That’s how long Christina Applegate was left living with undiagnosed Multiple Sclerosis.

When you look at the statistics, her story stops feeling like an anomaly and starts looking like a pattern:

🔬Only 1% of global health research funding goes towards non-cancer female health.
👩‍🔬70% of chronic pain sufferers are women, yet 80% of pain research is carried out on men.
🏥 Women wait, on average, 4 years longer than men to receive a diagnosis for the same condition.

Being repeatedly told “it’s probably just anxiety” or “your bloods look fine” isn’t bad luck, it’s the gender health gap in action.
If you are currently fighting for a diagnosis or pushing for a second opinion: trust your instincts. Your body knows when something isn’t right.

Have you experienced a long wait or a misdiagnosis yourself? Sharing your story helps normalise these conversations and reminds other women they aren’t alone 👇

Elinor Dashwood wasn’t “cold”…she was carrying the crushing weight of high masking. 🏛️💔

In Sense and Sensibility, Elinor is often framed as the sensible, quiet sister who lacks passion compared to Marianne. But for late-diagnosed autistic women, Elinor’s extreme composure is a deeply familiar picture of high masking and total emotional containment.

Why Elinor Dashwood is classic high-masking autism:
Etiquette as a Protective Script: She relies on rigid social protocols to navigate chaotic situations, using polite rules as a shield to conceal internal distress.
Internalised Emotional Processing: Rather than expressing dysregulation outwardly, she internalizes severe stress, resulting in quiet, exhaustion-level burnout.
Systems-Oriented Caregiving: She manages crisis through practical logic, household management, and structured problem-solving rather than performative emotional display.

Elinor didn’t feel less than those around her; she masked so hard that no one noticed she was suffering too. 🕯️✨

ad // Misogynists think the worst insult they can throw at a woman is “you look old”. But as I turn 36, I’m reminded that growing older is a privilege denied to so many. Age isn’t something to hide; it’s wisdom, experience, resilience, and power.

It’s time we start aging out loud! ✨
If you’re celebrating another year around the sun or just want to honor where you are in life right now, here are four wonderful ways to treat yourself in Edinburgh:

📍 @jomalonelondon – Book a full fragrance consultation, customise your bottle, and collect a special gift on your birthday! (Gifted items included)

📍 @strathberry – Personalise your leather pieces with custom embossed initials for that special touch.

📍 @moltonbrown – Indulge in a complimentary hand and arm massage along with perfume bottle engraving. (Gifted items included)

📍 @lush @lushspaedinburgh / Lush Spa – Truly an inclusive sanctuary. I had the 60-minute ‘Highlands’ hot stone massage with Alix, guided by Scottish runes and an immersive local soundscape, and I’ve never felt more grounded or relaxed. (Gifted experience)

How do you feel about celebrating your age? Let’s reframe the narrative in the comments below! 👇

Have you ever noticed how quickly we mislabel our own anger as “anxiety”?..

The current wave of UK pop culture, from RAYE to JADE, is giving us a front-row seat to something psychology has known for a long time: women are deeply exhausted from keeping the peace.

When we are conditioned to believe that expressed anger makes us “difficult” or “unreasonable,” our bodies do something clever (and exhausting): they internalise it. That rage gets converted into:
⚡ High-functioning anxiety
⚡ Over-explaining your boundaries
⚡ Chronic guilt when you say “no”
⚡ Somatic tension (jaw clenching, stomach knots)

Anger isn’t a “dangerous” emotion. It’s an informational boundary signal. It’s your nervous system’s way of saying: “This isn’t fair, and I deserve respect.”
