2025 was a transformative year for me — it truly feels like the end of a chapter. I had the privilege of visiting nine countries, three which I’d never been before. It was the year I got to live and work on an ancient island and in an ancient city. I reconnected with longtime friends around the world — friends I hadn’t seen in ages. I made new friends, formed new connections, and felt incredibly lucky to see the world through different perspectives. I experienced people in their own habitats, immersed in different cultures, music, and traditions. I also felt this moment in time where we’re collectively craving connection, community, and peace. Everywhere, I noticed the struggle — the economic, social, and political challenges affecting us all. Yet at the same time, I witnessed community, celebration, connection, kindness, and so many of the beautiful aspects that make us human — together. Witnessing this gave me perspective. It reassured me — or confirmed — that we’re all human, all fundamentally the same, and all seeking the same basic things: love, connection, safety, understanding, and empathy. It reminded me that we have to keep fighting for this and keep connecting, especially in a world where some forces try to separate us for their own gain. 2025 was also a year I roamed the Mediterranean in a whole new way. I had the chance to attend three international film festivals and present our own film at two of them. It made me so happy to finally share it with the world and experience the response it received. I was also so proud and lucky to witness my friends premiering their films at Cannes, which made me incredibly happy. And of course, we celebrated and danced our way through it. In my endless search, exploration, and curiosity about existence and humanity, I feel incredibly grateful that this year allowed me to experience different parts of the world and its people, blessed to have been guided by friends and family in foreign places.To have met new people who feel like soulmates.
