BTS from our mv shoot for “Miss Universe,” a collaboration between @sophiamosako and @myjsmefolklorika . Instead of crowns, castles and pageant glamour, we took Sophia and Folklorika into the Moravian countryside, surrounded by nature, horses, 70 young musicians and 16mm film. I’m incredibly grateful to the whole crew for the enormous effort they gave this project. I also couldn’t have asked for a better collective with whom to celebrate my birthday. Most personally, I’m grateful to have met Sophia and to have unexpectedly reconnected with my own Japanese heritage along the way. Arigato to everyone who made it possible 🌸 by @ruy_okamura
Visualiser for @adric and his track “kytka za litr.” I kept thinking about those city walk scenes from films and music videos I grew up with: Midnight Cowboy, Saturday Night Fever, even the strange confidence of Bitter Sweet Symphony. Someone walking through a city with their own private story, while the world around them keeps moving. We shot it with a small mobile crew, downtown and from far away on a Vantage Hawk zoom lens with a doubler giving us 300–900mm focal length, which let us compress Prague around him and make the whole thing feel both public and weirdly intimate. Massive thank you to everyone involved ! Bts from our shoot for @daniel_zizka and his track “Since We’ve Changed.” On the train back from Vienna, I asked Daniel whether he had anything prepared to release after Eurovision. He asked if I wanted to hear it, which I obviously couldn’t say no to. It was one of those moments when a song immediately creates images in your head. It brought me back to that strange feeling of seeing someone who once knew you intimately after a long time apart. Often, it is easier to behave like strangers. Our idea was to place two people with that history in close proximity and let the silence carry everything they no longer know how to say. To me, the song feels like a love letter to a past relationship, not about returning to it, but about being changed enough to remember it with tenderness. It was a pleasure to create this, a massive thank you to everyone who helped us bring it to life and thank you Daniel for your trust <3 by @ruy_okamura
