Lot of fun today working with the Illustration course exploring personas as part of the Y2 Masks project.

Revving up Saul Steinberg’s 1950s party game, we brought to life new ‘families of belonging’. Fave ideas were the Food Chain Predators, the Househeads, the Moonrisers, the Superheroes and more. Today, the brilliant Sthuthi Ramesh from @all_around.design joined us to introduce our Y3 BA Graphic Design students to “World Within — Identity in Translation” — this year’s brief written and set in collaboration with her studio.

Each year, we partner with a different industry creative or studio to set our students a live brief, giving them the opportunity to respond to real-world creative challenges and perspectives from the industry.
We’re intrigued to see where the students take this one… 👀

This year’s course pin badge, unboxed here by super-talented designer @mithoon_mahes , who won our live Y1 competition to design a motif to represent the course.
.
Mithoon’s striking design carries some strong and prescient ideas: the digital burden, pixels as friend or foe. A great addition to the badge heritage in its fifth year.

And a good moment to overview the entire badge archive to date, reaching back to 2022.
