RVA Skate School is proud to announce we are officially a Virginia Dealer of @cherrieswheels !!!! Cherries is the FIRST EVER female owned skateboard wheel company out of Texas. They use only premium quality urethane and I LOVE these wheels, I’ve been strictly riding them for years now. They’re smooth & durable & look cool too. If you need a new set of wheels, let us save you some money while also supporting women owned skate companies everywhere

We’ve accomplished a lot of cool stuff the past year but I must say this is one of my personal favorites

Local pickup and delivery only!

Supplies are limited for our first order so act fast!! Link in bio to purchase. We are so proud to rep Cherries!!!!!

PS. Need help finding the right wheel type or size ?? That’s what we’re here for ❤️❤️ by @rvaskateschool

WHO’S READY TO COMPETE??

Big announcement - the Virginia Amateur
Skate League @vasl.usf will be holding a competition at Taylor Farm on 10/10. This is huge news for my students who have been perfecting tricks or just working on cruising around the park a little smoother. There is no skill requirement to join

These types of comps for kids are rare on the East Coast and I can’t wait to show them what Richmond has to offer!! If any of my students sign up via the link below, I’m offering $10 off any “competition prep” lessons

This will be a great opportunity to show off your skills, cheer on your fellow skate school students, & support the local Grom community in RVA. During the comp, the skate school will be holding a little clinic for anyone who wants to learn. Come join us!!!!! taken in Taylor Farm (Richmond, Virginia) by @rvaskateschool

This weekend the Skate School had the honor of hosting a clinic on the ramp on the beach at @supergirlpro fest

This video recap proves it - Skateboarding is for everyone. With support & encouragement from other women, we can do ANYTHING we set our mind to!!!

I'm so proud of the girls who participated. All different experience levels shredded- from girls & skate moms who had never skated before. To @850_talulah who had only learned to drop-in a week before this & then SLASHED a 6footer

SOUND UP to hear the support and encouragement that exists in this community! The women in skateboarding inspire me continually. Special shout out to @brycewettstein for being a light & wonderful example for the next generation of skaters

Couldn't have done it without my people like always. So much more like this to come. GIRL SKATERS FOREVER 🛹🛹🛹 taken in Supergirl Pro At Oceanside Pier by @rvaskateschool

BIG BIG NEWS!!!! RVA Skate School is VERY PROUD to announce that we now have access to an indoor space in collaboration with @warehouse_317 !!! The warehouse is a wonderful & creative hub for Richmonders and I couldn’t think of a better fit for our mission here

We’ll be using the space for inclement weather days during scheduled sessions. Everyone agrees - rain clouds shouldn’t stop the shred!! Now we have the solution. I never imagined we’d have this opportunity so quickly. I can’t thank the warehouse or anyone who has supported the dream enough. Thank you for following along. Thank you for the support. Thank you thank you thank you.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: WOLFIE & OSCAR
If you’ve been around the school this year, I’m sure you’ve met Oscar and DEFINITELY remember Wolfie :) he leaves an impression!!!

These 2 are a perfect example of the progress that can be made with lessons, drills, and skating consistently. I’ve also never had as much FUN as I do during their sessions. Oscar has the dedication and focus to master anything you challenge him to. Wolfie is fearless and silly, & reminds me of why I started skating to begin with.

Their clip progression says it all!! My personal fav moment: at 0:45 sec wolf yelling “DADDDDDY” for his first big drop in 💪💪💪

Class Shout-out: Since February we have been hosting an adult Women’s only class at Southside Community Center @ 9am!

The truth is; skateboarding is hard. It’s a technically difficult sport in its own right. Not to mention, for a long time it wasn’t considered a space where women belonged. We’re here to change that

Why skate as an adult? Ive asked women who take the class & most often hear about how skateboarding has helped improve their mental health

The benefits are vast: small accomplishments improve self esteem & help to reduce stress. It teaches us about resilience & is a space to be creative while being active. Not to mention the community you gain along the way - it’s a supportive and non-judgemental vibe always

When’s the last time you tried something new?? Come join us, next class is this Sunday 08/09, we have any equipment you’ll need! taken in Southside Community Center Richmond, Va by @rvaskateschool
