i just got back from such a beautiful, magical trip with the girls… and i’ve been trying to find the words ever since…

the morning we left, we lost our baby boy Maxie and i don’t even have the words for what he was to us… especially to me. he was more than just a pup. our connection was something i’ll carry with me forever.

i had to put my grief somewhere deep for a little while so i could still give the girls the trip they deserved. and it was so hard… harder than i can explain. but seeing them happy, laughing, enjoying every moment… it meant everything to me.

i’m so grateful we got that time together. those memories are something i’ll hold onto forever.

we missed my husband so much. but looking back, him staying behind ended up being exactly what was needed. he was able to take care of everything with so much love and make sure our boy was handled with the care and dignity he deserved.

last night, we told the girls.
and i think that’s when everything really hit all over again.

my heart is broken not just from losing him… but from having to break theirs too.

this one hits different.

two years married, after over a decade of friendship that shaped the deepest parts of us.
you were my best friend; constant, grounding, and always there.
and when life finally aligned… we stepped into something so real, so right, so ours.
we didn’t just fall in love, we grew into it.
and i absolutely love it here.

you’re not like anyone else. you lead with grace, and i follow with trust. you carry both logic and emotional intelligence and i’ll never stop being grateful for that.
you see me. you hear me. and you move with a level of awareness i once thought didn’t exist.
you teach me, cover me, and nourish parts of me no one ever touched.
you’re gentle with my heart, my mind, and my soul.
you make me feel safe and seen, fully.

you’re obsessed with me (and it’s mutual 😌), you love my babies like your own, and you bring so much joy into the quietest moments.
whether we’re laughing or doing nothing at all… being near you is always enough.
