Continuing my shoegazy kick with my Circuit bent DS-1 self-oscillating into a Korg Miku Stomp (thanks to @owenwrobinson for letting me borrow🥹). Also used the DS-1 for the distorted guitars on this.

The Miku is often regarded as a niche novelty pedal and I don’t entirely disagree but there is potential there to push it beyond its toy-like quality into usable territory. The guitar lead on this almost sounds like a bagpipe to me. Pretty rad.

Getting wavy this time with the HM2 going into the AC3. Disclaimer: at most settings this sounds like complete garbage (in a not so fun way) but I actually love this tone. This is my strat on the neck pick up and going into a plexi model on the @neuraldsp Quad Cortex

🌟✨Happy Balance Day to all who celebrate. ✨🌟

Grateful to have such creative friends that make such loud devices. I’ll get a demo up at some point soon but this thing is so special, gnarly, and fun.

Head on over to @electronicaudioexperiments ‘ page to learn a bit more about how this pedal came about. A lot of love went into it ❤️

@dirgeelectronics x @electronicaudioexperiments x @obstructures forever.

This past Saturday was a poignant celebration not only of @relicmusicshop but of @skullservant, @dirgeelectronics, and community.

I’m so grateful that exploring fun sounds in my home office eventually led me to a group of such passionate, caring and creative individuals.

As usual I did not get enough photos but I’ll consider that a sign that I worked to embrace the present as much as possible.

Shout outs:
@relicmusicshop and @michael_nicosia on the 5th anniversary and your role in cultivating such a wonderful community and offering up a space for it to thrive
@skullservant & @clint.mcduffie for a cathartic noise set (first slide) - you are both the sweetest and your love and respect for each other was tangible
@andy.pitcher for an awe-inspiring set - a masterful showcase of music as language
@animalbodypart @weirdmachine_ and @datachoirsounds for providing everything from dreamy to crushing sonic landscapes
@ohhhjamie_ for being such a wonderful presence as always
@shearrevival for the fresh cut
@christopher__phillips @audiocultivationproject @dylanfitchh (spiritually present) for being the homies and Chris for being a housemate and cat magnet for 4 days
@championleccy 🫵
All of the builders and friends - so many to tag but I’ve literally reached the limit imposed by IG. If you were there you deserve a shout out ❤️ by @rvrfx

The @distorteddreamdevices Trashmore is the company's first offering, exploring what a RAT would be like if it grew more legs and could therefore do more tricks with a tech deck.

Expanding on the traditional filter, you also get Low and Bite controls that really help sculpt the sound, including to some trashy extremes.

Awesome for big textural distortion and tighter riffing alike. Had a lot of fun with this one!

@franklin_audio MP10 to run a mic into the pedals.

Trusting the process with the @franklin_audio MP-10 and RA-20.

Here I’m using the MP10 to run an old beat up Panasonic dynamic mic into a mix of the @bsmusicshop x @cusackmusic Meowdulator, the @mtl.asm Count to 5 and the @fairfieldcircuitry Shallow water.

With all engaged I get a static meow drone going, then layer a “kick” and clap running through just the Shallow Water. Vocals are going through the Ct5 and Shallow Water for some warbly harmonies, and nylon string guitar is running through just the Shallow Water for a lo fi touch.

Once everything comes in, I use the RA-20 to reamp the vocal and guitar groups through different settings on the @electronicaudioexperiments Scattering.

So much fun with just a few pedals and a willingness to go where they take you.

Thanks Franklin Audio for sending these devices my way!

Just an ordinary guy building monster high gain amps out of children’s toys! Thanks so much to @rvrfx for sending me this defunct Hannah Montana amp to cannibalize and work my Wyatt magic.

The preamp was inspired by the Sunn Model T and uses a Soldano tone stack—a slightly unusual pairing that works together like PB&J! All of that feeds into a separate clean power amp and output stage—that’s where the Master Volume and “Starpower” (which sort of acts like a Presence control) come into play. It’s hilariously unstable in some instances, but that’s the fun of it! Lastly, you can use either the internal speakers or jump out to a 8/16ohm cab!

iPod donated by my brudder, let ‘er rip!

All journeys must come to an end, but some find new life in the hands of a friend. 😭🫂 RIP Hannah Montana amp… number 1.

You can find my captures of the Hannah Montana amp on the Cortex Cloud (Username: Riverfox) and Tone3000 (Username: rvrfxmusic).

The @templodevices T2 Multi-Effect pedal is bonkers.

Based on the Maestro Rhythm N' Sound G2, the T2 can turn your signal into percussion, produce a gnarly velcro fuzz, add a quirky lower octave to your low notes, lend some quack to your tone with an envelope filter, or add some movement a choppy tremolo.

With this amount of knobs and switches, you could spend a lot of time finding fun sounds - trust me, this was not the only demo idea I had with this thing.

The @maskaudioelectronics (MAE) Neck Brace is a three-stage OTA based phaser that can go from a verrrrry slow (I'm talkin 18 seconds) to warp-speed ring mod fast. This puts an incredibly wide range of phasing at your finger tips (or toe tips if you will). New in Mark II is the ability to ramp between two phaser speeds just by holding down the footswitch, letting you add movement to your movement - though you also have the option of changing the footswitch to momentary for whenever your riffs need some impromptu laser sounds.

In this demo, I'm showcasing the Neck Brace at 3 different settings, starting with a ring-mod that I manually tuned to my low C string (this is in Drop C tuning) for the intro riff. Then as we transition to the vibey section, I'm using a slower phaser for the rhythm guitars and a medium speed phaser for the lead.

I'm using the @walrusaudioeffects 385 Overdrive for all of the distortion sounds here. I find these two make an awesome pairing.

Other gear used:
🎸Modded Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster w/ Seymour Duncan Silencer Vintage Pickups
🔊Neural DSP Quad Cortex using a Mesa Lonestar model set clean
York Audio Friedman 4x12 IR

The good folks over at @stringswing just sent over their Double Guitar Stand Rack Bundle.

This is a solution I was desperately in need of as I’d outgrown my previous 9-guitar stand and guitars were being propped up anywhere I could possibly leave them. I would wake from night terrors of them falling from their position - even installed a baby monitor to keep a watchful eye but all it picked up were the static voices of spirits critiquing the state of my studio. Now I (and the ghosts) can rest easy 😮‍💨.

Scroll for some before & after action.

Thanks String Swing!
