RWCT advances the success of all youth and families in RWC/NFO through community collaboration 💚
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
On September 26, Redwood City Together joined the St. Francis Center’s 40th anniversary block party, a joyful celebration that drew more than 500 neighbors into the heart of our community.
Our youth promotores and staff connected families with social services, ran activities for children, and pitched in wherever we were needed. Seeing our young leaders serve their own community was a highlight of the day.
The celebration also marked a historic moment: the groundbreaking for the first park to be built in the St. Francis Center community. This new green space will give neighborhood families a place to play, gather, and grow together for generations to come.
St. Francis Center has been a steadfast partner of RWC Together, taking part in our working groups and initiatives. Supporting them on this milestone was a true reflection of our mission: community members and organizations lifting each other up.
Congratulations, St. Francis Center, and thank you for four decades of service. #community #collaboration #history #northfairoaks taken in St. Francis Center of Redwood City by @rwctogether

Welcoming Week 2026 was a big hit in our community. From September 10 to 18, 503 neighbors joined 11 community events, from a Coffee Tasting from Around the World at the Sequoia YMCA and Salsa Night with @casa_circulo_cultural , Indoor Soccer @sienayouthcenter to Welcoming Week Stories at the @redwoodcitylibrary and the @caronprogram Resource Fair, which drew 237 people. Neighbors shared food, played sports, enjoyed music, culture, and information, and one attendee summed it up best: “This is community, where everybody is happy, feels welcomed and we can celebrate our culture.”

Thank you to our partners, including the Sequoia YMCA, Cañada College, Siena Youth Center/St. Francis Center, Fair Oaks Community Center, @smc_commaffairs, Casa Círculo Cultural, the Redwood City Public Library, CARON for helping make everyone feel at home.#Welcomingweek2026 by @rwctogether

Alexa Viscarra graduated from Sequoia High School in June 2025 and is now studying chemistry at Cañada College. She is passionate about creating positive change for youth in her community and will now be serving as the new administrative intern for Redwood City Together.
Throughout high school, Alexa prioritized community service serving as a Redwood City Together promoter for four years and, in 2025, joining the youth advisory board for Community All-Stars, where she helped plan events and coordinate outreach.
Alexa brings this hands-on experience to her new role, drawing on her passion for community to help young people achieve their goals and build spaces for meaningful collaboration #intern #rwctogetheralum taken in Redwood City, California by @rwctogether

Last week, one of our incredible Promotores alumni graduated from @fortitudecareers
Fortitude’s free, 8-week program combines 120 hours of life skills (financial literacy, career services, communication) with 180 hours of hands-on construction training. Graduates earn six industry certifications including OSHA 10, Forklift, and Boom Lift setting them up for immediate career success.

We’re so proud of our alum and can’t wait to see what they accomplish next! #dreams #collaboration taken in Downtown Redwood City by @rwctogether

Nothing beats learning about nature in nature! 🌲⛰️

Yesterday, our Promotores spent an incredible day exploring Huddart Park with @smcparks and @fohwp . From navigating the trails to understanding the local ecosystem, hands-on experience is the best way for our youth to share the beauty of our parks with others.

Trips like this directly empower our team to promote the SMC Mariposa Pass a vital program supported by @smcpfoundation that ensures our most vulnerable community members have free, equitable access to the outdoors.

We ended the day the best way we know how: good views, great conversation, and a delicious lunch! 🧺❤️

This summer, 12 community-based organizations across Redwood City and North Fair Oaks opened their doors to create meaningful job opportunities for local youth. But these numbers only tell part of the story. Behind every placement was a community Partner willing to invest in a young person, provide mentorship, build their skills, and help them see themselves as leaders in their community. From the application process in April to youth orientation in June and job placements throughout the summer, our partners played a critical role in making these opportunities possible. We are incredibly grateful to the organizations that made space for our youth and trusted them to contribute to the important work happening in our communities.
To our 12 community-based partners: Thank you for saying “yes” to youth in our community. Your investment goes beyond a summer job, you are helping young people build confidence, develop professional skills, explore careers in public service, and see the impact they can make in their own communities.
Thank you for Senator Josh Beck, District 4 Supervisor Lisa Guathier, and Redwood City Council for recognizing the youth this past month! #youthengagement #community #youthdevelopement by @rwctogether
