Pause!

You could scroll for the next 5 minutes or you could be grounded and inspired by this long form content. ✨

From the studio to the stage - a truly transformational and bonding experience!

This is Rose Movement Studio’s beginner-friendly performance class series doing a transcultural dance to Layne Redmond’s “Moon’s Lament” at the sold out Raqs Reawakening show.

YOU can be part of the magic of creating a performance together by joining my performance project at the The Crimson Vagabond Roadshow. We start rehearsals this week! (linque in b10)

Last weekend’s antics, part 2 of 2:
After a day of awesome fusion workshops with @karinafusion at @nocturna.coven, I had the opportunity to debut a solo piece in the evening showcase. I had never made my own choreography before, and because of my indecisiveness (“am I really going to do this? Maybe I could just disappear off the face of the planet instead”) I only had NINE DAYS to buckle down and come up with something. I’m glad I did, because this was an incredible, welcoming experience for a first solo! So much love to @thejewelboxdancers and @devindances for giving me a chance 🖤

Last weekend’s antics, part 1 of 2:
Last Saturday, I participated in the @stygiancollective “I’m Not Okay (A Rage Show)” as a student of @kamrahdancer, performing his choreography that we learned over the weeks prior. Kamrah’s classes have been a breath of fresh air this year for me as I’ve migrated more into the dark fusion space of bellydance, while still wanting to respect its SWANA origins.

This was an online show, so I was able to record this video in my own dining room at 3am, which felt relatively “safe” for any performance anxiety. Kamrah did a fantastic job editing all of the videos together and highlighting every dancer!

Always love doing paintings for @auraiv_tattoo art shows! This was for the Apparitions II fall showcase. It’s a companion piece for the painting I did for the first Apparitions show a few years ago, which was actually the first Aura IV art show I participated in! I have ideas for a third painting in this series… 👀

Next Aura IV art show will be in April! I’m hoping to get something together in time for it 🌺

2026: the year I stop posting only “professional” finished paintings and just post snapshots and random bits. This platform has gone so downhill for any sort of business purpose that I’m just reclaiming this space for personal use 🌝 Obviously that still includes art! This painting was a commission from last summer. A deeply meaningful piece for the recipient. 🪿

This year’s painting for the Trekell Pet Portrait contest was less about the contest and more about doing a companion piece to last year’s entry. This is Apollo, Ruby’s terrier brother. I got to meet this delightful lil fella back in June when I was in Seattle!
