As I turn 25, I keep thinking about how different life looks from what I imagined a year ago. Somehow, the unexpected became the most beautiful part of it all. This year gave me people, memories, and moments I’ll carry with me for a long time. If this chapter taught me anything, it’s to trust life a little more and hold on a little tighter to the people who make it meaningful. Here’s to whatever comes next, as long as it's filled with the same amount of love and the same people. 🤍✨ taken in Brussels, Belgium by @ryan.stefann

Rayouna,

the road ahead of you is going to be beautiful, but it will also ask a lot from you.

You’re going to start dentistry in your home country, that will take you 4 years at USJ. You'll think the hardest part will be the studies, but it won’t be. The hardest part will be leaving pieces of yourself behind while trying to grow into someone new.

One day, you’ll leave for an exchange in Brussels without knowing that this city will slowly become your second home (and that will take you 3 years of fighting... but then you'll make it happen because you are a fighter). You’ll have moments where you feel lost, homesick, exhausted, and completely unsure of yourself. You’ll question if you’re strong enough for all the changes, for all the distance, for all the pressure.

But keep going.

Because years from now, after transferring to ULB and rebuilding your life all over again, you’ll sit there defending your thesis (a subject everyone told you was impossible to study...but then you'll make it happen because you are a fighter) realising that every difficult moment was leading you exactly here.

And the most important thing you’ll learn is that no one truly gets through a journey like this alone. There will be people who will love you so gently through every version of yourself you become. People who will carry you with their words, their patience, their support, and their presence, even from far away. Hold onto them tightly. They will become part of your strength.

So when things get heavy, don’t give up on yourself, on your dreams, or on the life your heart keeps pulling you toward.

You’re going to make it.
And one day, you’ll look back at yourself with so much tenderness and pride because you just defended your thesis and finished with a distinction.

Trust yourself because you are a fighter!
