When Wren came to me she had been around ropes a bit, but wasn’t super comfortable with em still. The first time I tossed a rope from her back she blew left and started heading for downtown. Steady work and patience, some set backs, good days and bad, she’s now much more comfortable and it’s amazing to be able to join in a roping clinic together. I’ve always believed she’s perfect and that everything I could ever want in a horse, she holds. It’s just up to me to access it. This belief gives her a lot of room to try, without judgement. When we’re off the mark, I start with me and do my best to support her first. Having solid folks supporting us is what has made it all possible. Sharing in a goal is what brings people together. Syd discovered more that Harrison loves the cow work, so she’s hooked now too. Crayton is always committed to being the best cowboy and horseman he can be. And J Dub has lined me up with ticket for the fast train to working with him one day. We’ve got a long way to go before being useful, but it’s been a great year so far laying a foundation.
