MAKE NICE is now available on vinyl! Well...just one copy and just the first 75 seconds. And it sounds like it was recorded in a well in 1940. Still pretty cool. taken in Third Man Records Cass Corridor by @ryan_effgen

Rest well, Annie Dillard. Pilgrim at Tinker Creek was a formative book for a character named Pete 🐌 in a book I wrote...and it had a significant impact on me as well. The horsehair worm haunts my dreams. by @ryan_effgen

I read a lot, and one of my favorite things is finding a book I love that I’m somehow not seeing all over this app. So here are some of my 2026 reads that deserve way more attention. Some of these have become absolute favorites, and a few I truly cannot believe I don’t see more people talking about. A huge thank you to Little, Brown & Co., Harper, Ballantine, Knopf, Viking/Pamela Dorman, Gallery, Celadon, and Mulholland/Little, Brown for the gifted copies included here. I’m always so grateful to get to read and share these books. Everything featured is linked in my profile if you want to check any of them out. And now I want yours. What’s the best book you’ve read recently that you feel like no one else is talking about? Drop it in the comments because my tbr clearly needs more books. #bookrecs #bookrecommendations #underratedbooks #booksrecommendations #tbr by @ryan_effgen

Excited to read this new book by Tim Kinsella. I've been fascinated by Tim's creative output for a long, long while now, as evidenced by the 2nd pic in this post. Congrats on the book, @gootiming ! by @ryan_effgen

Last minute outing to see a Messthetics "pop-up" show at a suburban dive bar. Members of Fugazi, Rites of Spring, etc. Inspiring to see these local legends still doing what they love and exploring new territory. by @ryan_effgen
