Happy Birthday, Betsy! Call me biased, but when it comes to being Betsy, nobody does it better, baby. by @ryan_haney

Happy birthday to @bkenney. As you can see in this picture, Betsy is powered by the sun. Its rays gives her the strength to be kind, funny, and to roast my ass on the regular. 🌞 taken in Strathmere, New Jersey by @ryan_haney

@eggrestaurant provides health insurance, paid sick leave, and paid time off to its employees. When we come out on the other side of this, I hope that the restaurant industry looks more like Egg. If you can help their workers out, please do.

Yesterday, Evan and I closed Egg—for the next couple of weeks? indefinitely? for the foreseeable future? It’s impossible to know even how to talk about it. We packed our staff up with all the food they could carry and as much money as we could and sent them off into the great unknown—where we all are now.
.
.
One thing we do know is that it’s impossible to overstate how dire the situation for service workers right now. At Egg we’ve long prided ourselves on doing right by our employees, but the scope of this crisis makes it clear that even something like two weeks’ paid leave is nowhere near enough to get through. .
.
There are so many emergencies in the world right now. We need major structural changes and bold, sweeping visions to recover from this and build a more resilient and sustainable world. But RIGHT NOW we also need to help our coworkers pay their rent and buy food for their kids and keep their lights on. .
.
If you can spare ANYTHING to help the people at Egg who’ve brought you pancakes and biscuits and scrambled eggs over the years, please do—the link’s in our bio. .
.
We know we’ll make it through this, and we’re looking forward to the day we can all gather in our dining room again and wrap our loving arms around each other without fear. .
.
Until then, with love and tears and hope and courage (and clean hands!),

Today is @bkenney’s birthday and one of the many, many, many things that I love about her is this game that she made up called “Runner Trying To Ignore The Person Cheering For Her.” 🥳 by @ryan_haney

@bkenney met a life-sized Honey Deuce. Might be raining, but looks like the @usopen isn’t a total wash...😏 taken in USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center by @ryan_haney

Years of practice. Years of preparation. Years of sacrifice. All for one moment. But this isn’t for me. This is for my city. #champion #nbachampion #nbafinalschampion taken in Mercado Little Spain by @ryan_haney
