This year has just started and it’s maybe the best time to share this…

Back in 2020, I started a business around social media and doing the thing I love (creating content) for others because I learnt some skills that had become useful but also I needed to find a way to earn an extra income because we took a knock.
I signed my first client in that year but also, a series of God moments led me to carve my corporate career in the same direction of creating content.

I’ve always been a life-long learner (something I got from my dad 🥹) and in the years after this, I began to learn more skills, sharpen the ones I already have and build relationships that have grown and shaped me.

Over the last 5 years I’ve grown more and more into what this is, never ever believing that I would be where I am now.
At the beginning of 2025 we said we’d make a decision on whether or not I would leave the comfort, security and stability of the corporate world. We fasted, prayed (crunched the numbers and did the maths) and sought the Lord for direction and right when we were about to ‘pull the trigger’ I got injured and snapped my achilles. That moment defined a lot of the season and put sooo much into perspective and gave us the time we needed to reassess what was actually happening.

Forward to November 2025, I did it! I resigned from corporate!

I’ve always known that this is something that I wanted but the thing was @tamlynrooza needed to have absolute peace about the decision because this is not just about me but it’s about what we believe and trust that God has positioned us for.

We’re in 2026, the first week of me being ‘released’ into a new season and it’s scary, it’s crazy to be sitting here but I know that there is sooo much possibility ahead not because of anything that I’m able to do, not because of the clients I have, not even because Tam and I are aligned and on the journey together but just because God is the author and finisher of our faith and He is directing our steps and we’re just trying to be obedient.

There’s so much more to tell and this is the beginning but let me say this, be bold, be brave, have faith, ask, seek, knock and God will show up! taken in Cape Town, Western Cape by @ryan_rooza

I had a super tough conversation with a client that I’ve already done work for before. There’s been some back and forth on the numbers and the quotes (which is normal) however I’ve had to learn, very quickly, to think through the ask, the value and ultimately the result to the client and do all the numbers align so that it’s fair for everyone.

The challenge sometimes is wanting to jump at every opportunity because it means income and it means your name ‘gets out there’ however if it’s done to the detriment of your values, your beliefs, your health, your family then you have to draw the line and be brave enough to walk away!

It’s scary to be brave because you don’t know what’s around the corner but you need to know your value, you need to know what you’re delivering is valuable and just because someone knows you, doesn’t diminish the value you bring, as a matter of fact, it actually increases the value because the value can be trusted!

I look back on some of my old images and it’s a good reference for how far consistency can take you.
I’m not a big fan of the saying, “practice makes perfect” because you’ll never really get there but instead let’s reframe it to “practice makes progress”

The reps you do consistently add up over time and you’ll be surprised at the progress you make!

$17 billion dollars is wild but what’s even wilder is that this is a drop in the ocean for Meta and a sign that there’s a shift happening and we need to be aware of how we handle it.

The saying goes, “you don’t have to be great to start but you have to start to be great”

Put a different way, “whoever can be trusted with little can also be trusted with much” so just post the post, see what works then do more of that but all the way through, create value!
