We've known this was coming but it's something that's still hard for me to believe, let alone talk about; but it's with absolutely crushingly heavy heart to say, that Jacob has left us, and in his departure from this mortal coil has left a gaping hole in my heart, and the hearts of anyone that knew him. Jacob wasn't just my cousin, but was my brother, best friend, and soul confidant - a constant source of laughter, support, and unwavering loyalty through every up and down life threw our way. With his genuinely unique way of lighting up any room with his infectious smile, his razor sharp wit, and that boundless optimism and kindness that made everyone feel seen and valued. From our childhood mischief to the late night Coors light fueled talks as adults, Jacob was the one person I could always count on, the kind of family you choose in its truest form. And, though we knew his time was limited, nothing ever prepares you for the silence left behind. Or all the things you wish you could say to them, the quick text messages, the endless Instagram shit posts, and the relentless meme warfare. The world truly feels dimmer without you, but I'll carry your spirit with me always - his truths, his strengths, his humor, and the straight shooting tough love we gave each other. Through the last three years of your life, you taught me more about living bravely, loving fiercely, and laughing through the pain than anyone else ever could. Rest easy, Jake.
