October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. A year ago this wouldn’t have meant as much to Me and My family as it does now.

In January of this year, my Mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. For the next few weeks leading up to her surgery were a series of appointments, planning, and medical procedures that all made no sense to me until we finally had a plan for her surgery where they were able to remove the Cancer!

For anyone who’s ever met my Mom, you know that she is the most fun-loving and selfless person there is. She loves adventure, her family, and the simplicity of enjoying the small moments in life. Throughout the whole process I never stopped seeing my Mom smile even when they were preparing her for surgery. She is the strongest fighter I know because she never let Cancer get in the way of being the greatest Mother, Wife, and Daughter.

Although as of tomorrow my Mom will officially be 6 months Cancer free, many others are unfortunately not as lucky. Cancer is something that affects us all in one form or another. Cancer can happen to anyone you know, especially to those you least expect. I am beyond thankful for all the help she received from her doctors and everyone around the world who contributes to the fight against Cancer everyday. I want to encourage you all to do something this month to support Breast Cancer, whether it’s donating to Cancer research, sharing posts like these, or even just wearing a little pink like I wear on my wrist every day. Cancer can happen to anyone you know, and no one deserves to go through it. Every step towards raising awareness brings us closer to ending the problem all together and saving neighbors, friends, and family members’ lives. by @ryan_wolfe13

And with that, ODE wraps up the 2024 season.

Been delaying this post because it doesn’t feel quite real yet. It feels as though 7 years of music and memories has passed by in an instant. Kinda ironic as the first ever ODE performance was “7 Years” by Lucas Graham in the 5th grade talent show (7 years ago). We are all so grateful for the endless love and support shown by our friends, family, and the entire community for all these years.
