As many of you know I run a crazy busy shop that works on cars, and Ive been incredibly lucky to be over worked and under staffed with the exception of one wonderful part time employee. These last few months have me working nearly 60+ hrs a week often more, and it cuts into my drawing time.

My passion is clearly art however its never paid the bills, and as a result I started a shop about 12+ years ago and it exploded with business and was fortunate to have an amazing clientele base that keeps coming back.

I have decided that this pace is unsustainable and want to do more art, as my business goals have been achieved. Im NOT closing but im going to work less and draw more.

Appreciate all of you for hanging in there with me, I'm exhausted mentally, physically and spiritually, the money doesn't drive me anymore. Art has ALWAYS been my engine.

Heres a drawing i did right before I crashed for a week.

Model - @suicidalr0bot , thank you for your wonderful references. Its another 6' tall piece, charcoal and pencil.

Posting this as it sits on my wall easel because I'm tired of chopping it up to get it to fit all pretty for IGs crazy photo standards.

This is @onejessa famous for Star Trek Brave New Worlds.

Hope you enjoy it.

@gemma sorry could not find the photographers name, lemme know and Ill credit them. This is the end result of the progress clip posted earlier. Also, once again this is not ai and this piece is almost 7' tall cropped to 4' because of IG restrictions, which is fine. Anyway Im very proud of this one. Thank you all for coming to view my art, legit honored so many people have flooded my page, means the world to the Wyoming Cowboy Artista!

Smaller piece something like 4'x 3.5'

Was hesitant because of the colour use but am exploring this idea of a graffiti artist tagging up my b/w portraits.

Anyway im happy with the output here and enjoying experimenting with color and b/w.

Another enormous piece. This time @alanaallovertheplace, its beyond life sized. Have begun construction on a larger board that will let me draw 8'x4' pieces. The amount of energy and time and supplies is incredible really. My mailwoman wonders why my boxes always sound like burnt charcoal sticks, shes pretty close.

Finally got around to posting some of my new stuff. This is 6' tall and believe it or not spent 4 hours on it. Granted much of that time was me viewing from 20' away determining my next move. Thanks for hanging in there, its been crazy on my end.

****so every picture i take with my pixel phone seems to have some metric of ai filtering. Ive turned off that feature but still IG is flagging me for ai art. This is NOT ai art. Will find a new camera to take photos with, this is BS quite frankly. Ive been drawing for 40 years with paper and have never done any digital work. This is crazy.

The larger I draw the more excited I get, theres something about working from the shoulder vs the wrist that unlocks something undescribable.

Remember my 1st few large format drawings, they were absolute disasters BUT learned and adapted until finding a place that ultimately made me happy. Now trying to set up larger drawings, larger paper, larger utensils. Turning that fear of failure into a new moment in my art journey.

Dont ever fear making changes, and the more youre scared of doing so, only implies that its prolly the right choice.

Another drawing of @soapy.t

Charcoal portrait, its wild to me that charcoal on smooth paper is so easily manipulated and molded, its exactly the same method as oil painting and almost, if not more, forgiving. Another large wall sized drawing. Thank you to all of you out there that follow and like my art, it means the world to this small town mountain hillbilly. Reached a small milestone here on IG.
