Newly added oil pressure datalog thanks to @counterspacegarage! Really interesting data to dive into and practice my skills in data analytics.

Hell yea.

First time driving at Buttonwillow Circuit was a huge success! (I consider being able to drive home a win)

Those 423 laps on Out Run sim challenge finally paid off because the feeling of falling short of podium finish was a little too real yesterday. If you know, you know!😆

Circuit is trickier to set a fast laptime let alone find time to shave off the slower the car is. Unlike Chuckwalla, there's lesser corners, more long straights. So every exit from a corner is incredibly crucial to not lose time on the straights!

I gotta give it to @counterspacegarage brake pads withstanding the heat for how harsh this fast track is on brakes.

Really happy that I'm understanding how to maximize the @maxxistires VR2 tires now. They wear better than VR1 and a huge step up from grip.

I gotta make sure to be in Outrun_group6 instead of the faster group_5 AND not formula drift my way through turn 4, so sorry to this clearly faster driver stuck behind me.😭

Gambling on my best lap at Buttonwillow!

Driving a stock Gen 1 FR-S is like chasing perfection, Every mph carried into a turn, staying on the gas to extract all the HP and using every millimeter of the road

All just to keep up with the quicker gen 2 GR86/BRZs. (And by keep up I mean within 2 seconds slower)

But that's what still makes these older cars so fun to drive. It's all on the driver's ability to keep up without relying on horsepower.

And that's the most valuable mod a car can have! 😃 by @ryanchingsy

THE PODIUM STREAK CONTINUES!!!😆

Honestly there's so much to unpack from this day!

Learning how to drive this super rare buttonwillow layout, getting up to speed with gripper VR2s, doing driving instructor duties, and still trying to get better at 2nd gear downshifts🫪

Best lap came down to the final session and even then, it's a sloppy lap (you'll see when I edit the video!)

I will admit, I lost some driving touch over the summer break. 🫢 And that's okay! Because It allowed me to see where I'm falling short and it makes me eager to get back out there😌

Super grateful! (And lucky👀)

Did a fun experiment with budget Porsche-style brake ducts!

Brake cooling works by directing air to the brake rotors and cooling it from inside-out.

If you have a bigger brake system than the standard calipers and more gap for air to flow to the rotors, this brake duct method would be more effective!

On my setup, It's probably not cooling the rotors but instead incidentally cooling the calipers. Would need a temp gun & brake temperature stickers to get data and conclude its effects :)
