That’s a wrap on year seven, and year three in Joshua! Here’s a quick recap on how this year went!

I don’t post too often, and really don’t talk about myself too much, but I am proud of myself for the growth that I have made as a coach and an educator over my career.

This year I earned the Master designation in the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) program. Seven years ago, there’s no way I would have thought I’d get to this point. I knew that I wanted to be a coach, but was unsure about being in the classroom, so I am proud of myself for the continual growth to reach Master designation.

I also finished another football season where I get to work with a lot of great coaches and leaders. It has been awesome to be part of the growth and success of Joshua Football.

Baseball season is always a favorite part of the year for me. Getting to coach the sport you love, with your brothers by your side is such a blessing. Varsity had another 20 win season, and were Area finalists for the second straight year. My JV squad went 16-3-2 and showed up ready to play every day!

Lastly, the most rewarding part of being an educator/coach is the relationships I’m able to build with my students each year. I shared a quote with my 2026 seniors that said “A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.” (Jackie Robinson). I always knew that in this career path I wanted to make an impact in the lives of as many people as I possibly could, just like some of my teachers/professors impacted me. I deeply care about my players/students and hope that I was able to make an impact in their lives; even if just a little bit.

I finish this year full of gratitude. I am grateful for my wife, who also teaches in JISD (also earned Master designation). She also gets to impact others and holds down the fort on those late coaching nights. I’m grateful for all of my students who always make life interesting. Im grateful for my colleagues who make work enjoyable. I’m grateful that I get to do what I love, with the people I love, in the town that I love.

As 2025 closes, I wanted to post some of my favorite designs that I made this year! (RP Designs)

I started out just making graphics for my school’s baseball team. I always wanted our graphics/social media pages to stand out. A page that people and players looked forward to seeing. A big shoutout to Grit. Photography, Edz Media, JBS Media and others for the great images I’m able to use in these!

Midway through the year I was given an opportunity to make some graphics for the TBT Texas Baseball organization with some flyers and commitment graphics. I’m super thankful for this opportunity as I enjoy creating for others, committing to play college ball is a big deal and I want to portay that. It also challenged me and helped me grow a ton in my creative process.

I look forward to what 2026 will bring and can’t wait to learn even more in the process!
