This is a famous Beijing breakfast! We were invited by the beautiful @yilin.creates who happens to be a social media genius that I met in China! And I thought, oh, how nice! She’s inviting us to a wonderful breakfast, I figured it was gonna be bacon and eggs and waffles, and wow! This was quite a discovery😁🤣. Everybody has to try this breakfast, at least once. I probably could’ve drank the whole bowl for two dollars—-$2 is $2! Everything else was pretty darn good! Anyway, this fun video was made by YiLin and she’s awesome! #china #beijing by @ryandmilton
Mostly a back day, improving the arms and just getting back to exercising after being sick and crashing on the bike🚴‍♂️ by @ryandmilton
Now that’s a church! Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ One of the best churches to visit by @ryandmilton
✨🇨🇳This spinning LED fan uses persistence of vision to cast a stunning floating 3D hologram of a Chinese pipa player in flowing robes, with glowing effects and ribbon animations. This is actually a technology China had over a decade ago. by @ryandmilton
I was at the Canton Fair Oct 17-18! The most notable highlight of this year's 140th Canton Fair is the full implementation of the concepts of "innovation," "sustainability," and "intelligence," with artificial intelligence and robots playing a leading role. I got to see that in spades! Exoskeletons (like this one where I am/it is riding the bike)...advanced language translation glasses, bulk equipment of every type and 30,000 manufacturers.... This is what every Nation needs. This is how you build qualified optimism. This is how people know they have a future--even when everything isn't perfect. This is the future if we get our leaders (I'm in the USA) to shift gears and get out of Middle East conflicts, European conflicts, domestic party political conflicts and put "The General Welfare" of our own Nation in the forefront AS WE POSITIVELY ENGAGE with other Nations, like Russia🇷🇺, China🇨🇳, and many others. Differences don't have to define the relationships, they can enhance them. Thanks to my friends at the @cantonfair for helping me to see what the future can be. Guangzhou is a place everyone should visit by @ryandmilton
Just to give you a taste, when I finally did make it to China after 30 hours of travel, the first place we stopped was the Canton fair! 30,000 companies in the spring and in the fall meet every year since 1957, where buyers can come and find products for their companies. and they buy them in bulk. It goes without saying that once again I’m amazed beyond comprehension and I am absolutely loving it. I tried on exoskeleton, there were service robots, intelligent manufacturing, rural medical robots, real-time translation eyeglasses, fully automated whatever you can imagine! by @ryandmilton
Steep Great Wall Badaling. Its extraordinary here by @ryandmilton
We were given quite the welcome and appreciation when we came to the Great Wall at the Pass at Bandaling. This “Bandaling” — “Ba” means 8. “da” means “to reach”; “ling” is summit. From that location one can go 8 directions: simply to go everywhere. We are right by Inner Mongolia. It is said you are not a real man if you have not been to the Great Wall. Here it is preserved and has the intersection of so many branches of the walls in one location. The Foreign Affairs Ministry made sure we got right to the best spot to be able to access the Great Wall and then they presented us with this nice certificate. by @ryandmilton
I love the intellectual vigor, happiness and excitement of Chinese youth. They love Americans. I don’t know how they figured we were Americans😁 by @ryandmilton
Well, we’ve only just arrived (yesterday afternoon) and we had a crazy time getting here. More than 48 hours just to get here!!! We had a brief visit to the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall. This year marks the 160th anniversary of Sun Yat-sen. He is an excellent example of how the United States and China can work together. The site place of Sun Yat-Sen memorial hall used to be Sun Yat-sen’s presidential palace. It was destroyed in war. After his death, people built this memorial hall here to remember him. He worked on this land, but never entered this present building. His short presidency ended the Qing dynasty (also spelled Ch'ing) in 1911, specifically with the Xinhai Revolution. The last emperor, Puyi, abdicated in 1912, officially marking the end of imperial rule in China and the beginning of the Republic of China. Sun was educated in Hawaii (he was sponsored by missionaries )and leading influences include Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address ("government of the people, by the people, for the people"), which inspired his principle of Democracy. (As an American, I appreciate the recognition and the contribution of the American Revolution and the American founding fathers. in China today). He is honored in China. What a time to be here. Everything is in bloom! Even the highways have flowers! My Chinese diplomatic friend said the following, “he passed away 101 years ago, too early to see the development results.” “But the Chinese people forged ahead with determination generation after generation, even faced with grave challenges and difficulties, or barriers, blockade, humiliation, and prejudice by some forces.” President Trump will President Donald Trump will attend both the ASEAN summit and the APEC summit in November 2026 nearby here in Shenzhen. Then the US will host the G20 in Miami. 👏👏👏 good diplomatic work. by @ryandmilton
Just arrived in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 and were getting on the train to Guangzhoudong! So many people coming for the Canton Fair. We are going to have lots to see! We are going to see Phase 1 (October 15–19, 2026): Electronics, household electrical appliances, manufacturing & machinery, vehicles & spare parts, lighting, hardware, and building materials. I’ve already spoken to some US businesses who are happy to be here (“Americans don’t know that this is where the real action is” he said) but one one case he said they had 10 containers of building materials come in August, that his company has imported nothing since because of the new 17% and growing cost just in shipping. by @ryandmilton
Soon headed back to China for some tech events and conferences. I wonder what hotels will look like this time. by @ryandmilton
