Better late than never. A while back, I embarked on an unforgettable journey to Brazil for the Zayed Sustainability Prize. Being thrown into the middle of the Amazon was an experience I never imagined, especially since my only camping adventure was in my mom’s backyard as a kid!

The trip began with a 14-hour flight from Dubai to São Paulo, followed by a 4-hour flight to Manaus, a 2-hour flight to São Gabriel, and a 6-hour boat ride up the Rio Negro to Içana. There, we met @edsbrasil_ EDS, an incredible organization providing free healthcare to isolated indigenous communities.

We spent a week filming the amazing work being done and interviewing the inspiring Dr. Ricardo, the founder. It was a privilege to work alongside him, our cinematographer @jamie.kennerley Jamie, and our on-the-ground producer Tomas @fixerbrazil Despite the anxiety and braving rain and heat, the experience was fantastic.

The return journey was just as adventurous, with a 6-hour boat ride and a 24-hour ferry back to Manaus. It was a journey I’ll never forget.

Some behind the scenes photos from a project with @orcaaurafilms for ZSP in Guatemala. I traveled there to film Semila Nuvea, a company founded by Kurt Bowen that’s making a big impact by developing bio-fortified corn seeds with better nutrition and resilience against climate change.

From the moment I arrived, it was non-stop. Right off the plane, we hit the road, navigating bumpy, winding paths up into the mountains to capture some beautiful cornfields. Despite the rough ride (I’m still feeling it!), the view was stunning. I had the chance to meet incredible people like Don Zacarias, a farmer who’s benefiting from these seeds, and we documented his story throughout the trip.

One of the standout moments was visiting Don Zacarias’s home. His family welcomed us with such kindness and a homemade meal that really resonated with me. It was a reminder of how much happiness can be found in the simplest things, especially when surrounded by family.

The trip wasn’t without its challenges—storms, blocked roads, and some long detours—but every part of it was meaningful, from the landscapes to the people we met. A big thanks to our crew: @landervz1 Andres, @josechica Jose, @julioaechavarria Julio, @david_ganci8 David, and everyone else who helped make this experience memorable. Being a producer is about so much more than schedules, budgets, logistics, and putting out fires.

It’s about people.

It’s about surrounding yourself with talented, passionate, hardworking individuals who genuinely give a shit about what they do. People who show up, find solutions, push boundaries, and somehow manage to turn chaos into something incredible.

There’s something special about bringing a group of people together, each with their own skills, personalities, and perspectives, and watching it all come to life.

Producing isn’t always glamorous. It’s long hours, difficult conversations, constant problem-solving, and making a hundred decisions nobody ever sees.

THAT’S A WRAP on Double Wallet — a scripted drama series shot entirely on a virtual production LED volume stage 🎬
55 episodes. 36 production days.
Taking a 55-episode drama series and building its entire visual world within a 180-degree LED screen brought a very different set of challenges. It was an ambitious production, with every asset, environment, coverage, lighting setup and camera decision needing to work within the constraints of the stage, while still giving the series enough visual range to support the story.
The pace of the schedule made it even more demanding. There were plenty of technical and creative problems to work through along the way, and a lot of decisions had to be made quickly and collaboratively.
After being away in Dubai for nearly two months, it feels good to finally call this one a wrap.
A huge thank you to the entire cast, crew and all the HODs 🦇🏓 who put in the work from beginning to end. It was a demanding schedule, and the commitment from everyone across production, camera, lighting, art and the VP team made a massive difference.
A special shout-out to @ryandomigpe, who brought me over and trusted me with the job. And to @zmerhi, it was a pleasure working alongside you and bringing this one to life together.
I’m really proud of what we managed to achieve and grateful to have worked with such a talented group of people.
I’m excited to share some frames, lighting plots and recipe breakdowns from the shoot as soon as I can.
