It’s been two weeks since @scarmagdalena and I were announced as the winners of The Search RI season one…. And I really had to sit with the emotional waves of this one. I’ll never be able to put in a post what this day (this PROCESS) has meant.

Thousands of opportunities to quit these past ten years. Thousands of times I heard “You can’t physically dance after this surgery,” or “maybe you should have a plan b.”
Injuries, setbacks, smart decisions, poor decisions, and a lot of moments where I wondered if I had missed my window.

Saying yes to this opportunity at 33 was so much more of an internal challenge, and an “ode” to my 23 year old self that would have KILLED to experience what I did these past few months. That girl wasn’t any less talented, passionate, and determined. She just had to fall down 2 or 593732 times. Learn some lessons, change some behaviors…. Ya know?

I had to be smarter with my body.
More intentional with my energy.
And honestly… more vulnerable as an artist.

What surprised me the most though wasn’t the competition. It was the community. The collaboration. The artists I got to create with. (Scar I could write a book about how beautiful of a human you are inside & out, and simply GIFTED. It’s been an honor). And lastly, realizing that putting yourself back out there is NEVER a bad idea. Never.

I do NOT take for granted the fact that my body is in tact (the tedious exercises and conditioning needed to make sure it is), my physical mental and emotional health are cared for, and something bigger than me has carried me through every hard and exciting day. Faith, family, friends, and community are the anchors that have become non-negotiable on this path.

I’m excited to start sharing more of the journey. More dance. More process. More honesty.

@edbradyri the gratitude I have for you as a person, a creative, and a friend... it is LARGE. We ALL need an Ed Brady in our lives 🤍 Thank you to every crew member, cast member, and mentor who made this experience possible. My friends, family, support system… God I love you all so much.
Whats next? I’ll keep ya in the loop…

Some journeys give you more than a stage — they give you people who change you.

I’m incredibly honored to have stepped into The Search Finale alongside @scarmagdalena , choosing collaboration over competition and moving forward together instead of as solo artists. A truly talented woman, beautiful inside and out.

I’m also deeply grateful simply to be able to dance again. To come back to myself. After everything my knee and body have been through, there was a time I truly didn’t know if I’d ever be back on a stage like that — so this moment means more than words can say.

What I’m taking with me most from this experience are the friendships and mentors I gained along the way. And to every family member and friend who showed up that night and supported me through the entire process — thank you for keeping me going.

Endless gratitude to @edbradyri — the visionary behind it all — and every single cast and crew member who made this unforgettable.

The finale may be over, but the story is just getting started. ✨

3rd times a charm ✨ Feeling proud and grateful taking home 1st place with @ivanvaleri.za in pre-champ 1 this past weekend at @fred_astaire_dance_studios Colonial Classic 🤍

It’s been a blessing stepping back into the dance world… but a different one than i grew up in. It’s incredibly humbling and inspiring to experience ballroom, and watch the incredible pros who have dedicated their life to this craft. Getting to do what I’ve trained my entire life for, while also starting from the “beginning,” is a gift I feel beyond lucky for 🤍 Honored to be learning and growing from the best in ways I never expected. taken in Mystic, Connecticut by @ryane.currie

Walked away with a win I wasn’t expecting… & it was not the crown 😉
Walking out on that stage representing a woman in recovery, a woman comfortable & fluid in her sexuality, and a woman that has seen the ugliest of rock bottoms…. That felt pretty fking cool.

I met some incredible women and tried something new… and those two things in themselves will always get me to say YES.

The part that was most unexpected….
I have so much respect for the discipline, dedication, and preparation this industry requires. I will always give credit to other forms of art, and these women work incredible hard. That being said- throughout the weekend, I realized this simply wasn’t the world I’m meant to be in.

While pageantry has absolutely evolved in many ways, I caught myself trying to fit a mold that just wasn’t mine. That is NOT criticism to the organization or the women who love this world. (My world of dance/art etc isn’t for everyone either). I am a firm believer in figuring out the things you don’t like in order to figure out what you do like.

5…10 years ago…. This would have broke me. I would have let my self worth lay dependent on whether this competition “chose me.” It feels REALLY damn good walking away having more clarity on my direction, having learned something new, and the ability to be honest enough to say “that wasn’t for me, but I’m proud of myself.” (AND for falling in love with the parts of ourselves that “aren’t for everyone”)

Thank you to everyone who cheered me on, supported me, and gave me the nudge to do this. None of the above is ever possible without community & “your people” 🤍🤍 Cheers to seeking out new challenges & cheers to my five year old self who would’ve KILLED to see a future me on a stage like this 😂🙏🏻 she is now fulfilled.

Also this song has always been my go to “theme song” if I had to choose one. And simply just couldn’t be more fitting rn 🤓🙌🏻

One year ago, we took a leap of faith. ✨

The Search was never just about finding the next great singer, dancer, or performer. It was about creating a place where every voice matters, every dream deserves a chance, and every artist has a story worth telling.

Over the past year, we’ve watched strangers become family, confidence replace doubt, and stages become places of healing, courage, and hope. We’ve seen artists discover their gifts, rediscover their purpose, and a community come together to celebrate creativity with open hearts.

To everyone who auditioned, volunteered, judged, sponsored, partnered with us, supported from the audience, or simply believed in this vision—thank you. You helped prove that Rhode Island’s greatest resource isn’t just its history or its coastline; it’s its people.

As we celebrate our first year, we’re filled with gratitude for what God has done and inspired by everything still to come. Here’s to every dream that’s been awakened, every friendship that’s been formed, and every stage still waiting to be filled.

What an unforgettable night as we celebrated our Search community and officially announced our grand finalist winners in collaboration with Pawtucket community leader @chachihiphop and the entire @centrevillebankstadium

The energy throughout the entire stadium was electric with incredible live performances from our grand finalists @sioobibb @lovemarrykillmusic @officialtvamusic and a special halftime performance by our pilot season champions @scarmagdalena & @ryane.currie ✨🎬. Music led by @mikedonair and the scene was set by @anthonychampagne_

Moments like this in time remind us how powerful community, music, mentorship and opportunity can be when people come together to uplift each other. Thank you to everyone who helped make the night so special … the artists, supporters, mentors, families, fans, and the entire RIFC and Centreville Bank Stadium team for believing in the vision and giving these artists a stage to shine. We also want to thank @pizzamammari for sponsoring our artist luxury box and RHORI stars @kelseybswanson & @joellentiberi for showing up with their support! For so many years, I’ve proudly taken on the roles of a wife, a mother, and a nurse—but somewhere along the way, being a musician felt like it was put on a shelf.
I almost didn’t audition for The Search RI… but that last-minute decision changed my life.
Through this journey, I’ve met the most incredible people, rediscovered my confidence as a performer, and gained so much more than just a win. I’ve found a new family, a new outlet, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Thank you to @edbradyri for creating something so special, and to every creative who brought this experience to life—from behind the scenes to the stage.
And a very special thank you to @ryane.currie —for putting aside your solo path to join me, to become one, and to create something truly powerful together. I couldn’t have done this without you 🤍

Last night at @centrevillebankstadium , under the lights at @rhodeislandfc and in front of our community, we experienced a moment we will carry forever!

Nine months ago, this was just a vision… a belief in our homegrown artists and creative state. Since then, through hundreds of submissions and unforgettable performances, we witnessed something bigger than competition take shape.

As local performers competed in The Search, the pursuit of winning gave way to something deeper … community, collaboration, and authentic connection.

Prior to the game for the first time in the stadium’s history, our Top 5 finalists gave everything they had: @lovemarrykillmusic , @sioobibb @_teevio & @modern_aces , and Lenny Estrella representing his son @lucasestrellacomedy .

Then at halftime… a moment frozen in time.

For the first time, we shared with the world our Season 1 winners Dancer @ryane.currie and Singer @scarmagdalena .

This showcase series was never about winning. It was about people, purpose, and belief.

History was made and we are just getting started! The moment continues. ❤️⚓️🏟️
