Rogue's Hollow Regiment, it's crazy to say year 2 on staff is over. This one felt different, WAY different.

At the start of this offseason I was given a choice do I march my ageout, or do I continue to teach. And honestly, I'm not always sure I made the perfect decision. What I am sure of is how damn proud I am of these kids.

To take students that play fine and to make them excellent is my ultimate goal; to help pave a path that allows them to exceed what I was capable of. This year I succeeded. I'm fully confident many of these students will find themselves in the ensembles they want to be in. And I will know that I helped get them there.

To everyone this season, Thank you.

Cap City 2026.

Something I never thought I'd be a part of. This season was HARD, by far the most challenging book of my marching career with some of the most exposed passages of music i've ever played.

There was a moment in the early season where I sat with myself and questioned if I could do it, if my body could hold up, if my brain would let me. And thankfully I made it.

For the people that met me this season you truly have no idea how big my goal of world class finals was. Every day since my rookie year in 2018 I've dreamt of it. And i'm thankful for everyone that got me here.

Through all the setbacks through all the hardship through EVERYTHING.

It's that time of year again! As many of you may or may not know every year I take march 4th as time to do some reflection and write out my thoughts.

This year the thing that really stuck in my brain was the idea of constants. The marching arts has been a constant in my life ever since I was 12 years old and quite frankly I don't see that changing anytime soon. However, the thing that kept me within the activity has been the people. I am consistently surrounded by some of the greatest musicians in my life (and in cases the world). I love each and every single one of you for the support you have given me and the art we create.

To every single person I've marched with, this season's for you

DCI 2025.

Something I truthfully didn't think I was gonna be a part of and here it is. Thank you Rogue's Hollow for trusting me with so much it was amazing to see band from the other side. It truly means the world to me to be given the opportunity to mold this wonderful group of musicians. If you had told me I was gonna end as defacto captionhead I would've never said yes but I'm so glad I did.

This might be long so strap-in

A lot has happened in my life recently, and I've told a few people privately but I think it is time to talk about it publicly. On June 15th I was sent home from the Scouts, it was a decision mutually made between admin and myself. My mental health hit rock bottom in a way that it had only hit in its' worst. I wanna take this post to talk about that.

Throughout my so far 19 years of life, I have forever struggled with a battle with myself that will never end. My brain, my body, and my heart never seem to agree on anything. The highs are so high and the lows are so very low. I say all this as a reminder that you're never alone even at my darkest moments I had at least 1 person to help me. I hope and pray that those people have nothing but good things happen to them because without them I would not be here.

Please please please remember there is someone out there that wants you here. No matter what you're going through someone is there and would be sad without you. And with that I implore you to reach out to those you care about, even if you haven't talked to them in years. A simple "hi" means so much more than anyone could possibly understand.

Thank you to everyone who has helped me throughout the years I appreciate it, and everything I do is in honor of you guys.

Thank you Flux.

You guys took a chance on me when I was 17 moving to a new state with no idea what the hell I was doing. You gave me a chance to learn and be better. I never in my life thought I'd be able to say I marched a world class woods line and even less as a Xylo. You put so much trust in me for this season and I did all I could. I'm 19 now and I think I'm just as confused as I was at the start but at least it happened. As I move back home to Ohio and on to other things I will always remember this chapter. Arizona tested me in ways I didn't think were even possible and I survived.

It took me a while to write this, but I really loved my chance to be a part of growing AZ. And while I never had much of a personal attachment to AZ as my "home" it was fun to create a legacy. And whenever you listen back to this show, you'll always hear my sound. I made my mark on Flux, even if it was small. And that's all I ever wanted.

Thanks for taking a risk on me. Now it's time to go back home.

And just like that its over. It's been about a week since my season ended and I had to resume life as normal.

I am forever grateful for the people I have met at scouts and through scouts. You are some of the most phenomenal people I have ever gotten to spend time with.

I grew a lot this summer and my mindset towards the arts and my personal growth has changed. I am going to continue grinding until I physically cannot anymore.
