A big thank-you to the fine folks at @goodcompanyyqr who invited me last week to play a pregame show in #yqr. What a beautiful venue and perfect place to play. One of my favourite things is fresh fruit and vegetables. I love growing them and eating them. Over the last few years, I have really enjoyed ordering fruit and veggies from @theblueberryguys . They grow delicious food in BC and make deliveries across western Canada over the summer. They have one last delivery September 28th in #yqr and I highly recommend you check them out this week and next year if you love fresh food too. by @ryanhicks306

Hello year 27 of teaching! For those of you who don’t know me well, I am an educator and an artist. I have been writing songs since I was 15, but a late-bloomer with releasing my first album in my 30’s in 2014. I studied music education, have my bachelor’s degree in music education, and went back to do a masters in education in curriculum and instruction. I love wearing many hats, and being able to work through the years in music education, and many others subjects from k-12 has been wonderful. I am grateful to be an educator and an artist. On our last night of our BC trip, I stayed up late to take pictures of the night sky from the Fernie Alpine Resort. After many days and many hours, I finally finished repairing my patio pavers! It was a big job as I removed all the bricks and had to start preparing the area from scratch. My backyard is my favorite place to hang in my home and I’m so happy to get to chill in the space! Most of my songs I write back here with my pal @fernie_poo hanging out and I can’t wait to hang out back here! by @ryanhicks306

Wow! Thanks for a great evening @pumpjacks_weyburn ! The crowd was amazing and wouldn’t let me stop playing in the best possible way. There were a ton of people on the dance floor (which is pretty cool for a solo acoustic show) having a great time, requesting songs and throwing down cash to keep me playing. Not change, but cash dollar bills! It felt great to bring joy through music to a nice crowd and PumpJacks has wonderful vibes, staff, and food! Check them out in Weyburn or #yqr .
