It’s always been bigger than the sport. 🫂

Proud to have been a Division I athlete. Proud to be a marathoner. A cyclist. A community builder. A yoga teacher. A @hyroxworld athlete. Proud to be an openly gay athlete.

Growing up, I never saw athletes like me living openly. If being visible now helps even one younger athlete feel like they belong in sports, then I’ll keep showing up.

I posted about this recently and some pretty hateful comments came my way. More than anything, they reminded me that there’s still a reason to be visible, and a reason to be louder.

That’s why visibility matters.

Bringing people together has always been my love language.

Such a fun night pulling this together with our little workout crew: @jeremy.fich as chef and @gazpho opening up his space for us at @house.of.gaz.

This will be the summer of more dinner parties with friends.

Shoutout @lenox for the table setup, @sanpellegrino_us + @letourwines for the drinks, @huckberry for the fit, and the thrift shops for the rest.

And @chatgpt for keeping us all organized.

More to come.

CHICAGO MARATHON #2 COMPLETE!!

A legendary day out on the @chimarathon course. I cried twice out of pure joy. Once at mile 0.5 (someone was playing @Adele) and again at mile 25.5 as I pushed through the final mile.

Shoutout to my home city of Chicago.
Shoutout to every volunteer.
Shoutout to my team, my friends, and my family who always show up.
Shoutout to all the creatives who captured this race so beautifully.
Shoutout to the trainers and coaches who got us to the start line.
Shoutout to every person who lined those streets and cheered for complete strangers.
Shoutout to the community leaders bringing people together.
Shoutout to everyone who paved the way.
And shoutout to us for taking the first step.

To this incredible community of people who continue to show up, push boundaries, and remind each other what’s possible. I couldn’t imagine this chapter of my life without you. What a privilege it is to be part of something so much bigger than 26.2 miles.

And just like that, it’s on to the @nycmarathon in less than three weeks with the @peacerunners773. Link in bio if you’d like to donate and help get me to that next finish line.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Chicago

I cried of joy twice running 26.2 miles through the @chimarathon, and i’m doing it all again in 2 weeks at the @nycmarathon. 🥹

Some of my favorite moments from Chicago Marathon #2: full body chills starting at mile 0.5, running into friends and first time marathoners on the course, the gayborhood, pilsen, and my people showing up at exactly the right moment.

Love the support.
Love this community.
Love the passion & heart.
Love this city,
and where this chapter is leading me.

I’m running NYC with my friends at @peace_runners773 to help bring this sport to more people on the west side of Chicago. Link in bio to donate. ♥️

Turned my condo into a bagel bar for the kickoff to @chimarathon weekend!

I’ve been daydreaming about this bagel bar setup since last year’s marathon, so thank you @lifewaykefir for helping make it happen.

On the menu: @eatatandros bagels, plenty of @lifewaykefir Farmer Cheese, Lifeway Muscle Mates, smoked salmon, mackerel, capers, olives, dill, and fresh veggies, all served on thrifted vintage silver platters. Carb load, but make it gut healthy.

This is my dream morning. Stay tuned for more Breakfast Club mornings.

Good luck to everyone running Chicago this weekend. See you on the course!

One of my favorite Chicago summer rituals: a Sunday morning at the farmers market. 🍑🌽

I’m partnering with @drivetoyota and taking the Toyota Tundra along for a morning of seeing what’s in season, supporting local farmers and small businesses, and stocking up on everything I’ll be cooking with this week.

There’s something about meeting the people who actually grow your food that makes you appreciate it that much more, and these simple weekend rituals are a big part of what makes Chicago feel like home.

If you’ve never spent a summer morning at your local farmers market, consider this your sign. And if you’re looking for your next weekend adventure, visit your Chicagoland Toyota dealer or Toyota.com.

90 minutes from Chicago and it feels like a full weekend escape: New Buffalo, Michigan, the “Hamptons of the Midwest.” 🌊🏡

We stayed at @chateau_marquette, think Ralph Lauren meets English country, with Lake Michigan basically across the street. A movie room, candy bar, sauna, dream kitchen and plenty of space to slow down for the weekend.

Some of my favorite spots we visited or that came recommended:

Eat: @granorfarm, @postboynb, @farmettemichigan, @outthere_mi, @sideyardsawyer, @susanssawyer , @thestraydogbarandgrill @redarrowroasters + @redamaks

Shop: Harbert Antique Mall, Blue Anchor, White Rabbit, Armida Atelier, FreckleFarm, AP Shop + the shops in Three Oaks

Add in the beach, farm stands, antique shopping, and easy biking + running through the Riviera neighborhood and you’ve got a pretty perfect wellness weekend away from the city.

If you don’t have a car, it’s only an hour ride on the @amtrak and you get dropped off right downtown.

Save this for your next weekend away, send it to the friend you’re bringing, or DM me if you have questions.

A real pinch-me moment. I was invited to experience @americanair’s newly retrofitted @boeing 777-300ER on its first flight. As a 6’3” guy who spends a lot of time on planes, I was very into this one.

A few of the biggest upgrades:

* 70 new Flagship Suite seats with privacy doors, wireless charging, more storage and a chaise-lounge position.
* More premium seating than any aircraft operated by a U.S. airline, which feels like a pretty big move for @americanair’s long-haul experience.
* Fully lie-flat seats with upgraded bedding, including mattress pads and cool-touch pillows. And yes, I actually fit.
* Upgraded dining + @lavazza coffee, which made the whole experience feel noticeably better.
* New amenity kits featuring skincare from @joannavargas.
* Bluetooth entertainment + high-speed Wi-Fi, which makes working so much easier.

The biggest takeaway for me: it just feels like American is doubling down on their premium long-haul experience.

Also, we got beautiful new @july luggage to celebrate the launch.

If you fly American a lot or premium, would you try it?

Thank you @pgatour for inviting me to my first golf tournament, the @presidentscup.

If you’re heading out this weekend, a few things not to miss: grab some food from Chicago’s own @LettuceEntertainYou, try some local Chicago staples like @localstylechips, check out the @buffalotracedistillery set up and cockatils, spend some time in the Captains Club with @MichelobULTRA, and get an etched mug from @Stanley1913.

Give yourself time to walk around, take it all in, enjoy the day, and get fitted.

Loafers by @marcnolanofficial , pants + shirt by @octobre_editions , and watch found by @Joeyfoundit. 🤍
