We’re pretty shell shocked currently!! We got a national review in the @telegraph by @williamsitwell
Thanks to the whole team for delivering amazing experiences & making a dream come true…

Feeling happy that our extremely dim & sexy evening lighting, has been appreciated too!

A lovely visit to @pomusfolkestone today for a cosy lunch. The food was absolutely delicious, with beautifully considered flavours and dishes that are perfect for sharing - meaning you get to try even more!

Our favourites had to be the soft, homemade bread and the steak… we’re still thinking about it now! We also enjoyed the wine of the day, a beautiful Chapel Down Chardonnay, which made the perfect accompaniment and is proudly local.

If you’re looking for somewhere for a cosy lunch or a date night, @pomusfolkestone is definitely one to add to your list. They’re also dog friendly, so it’s the perfect spot to stop for a bite to eat while out on a walk. We will be back for sure! 🍽️

CHECK IN. SWITCH OFF. FALL FOR FORT ROAD. ❤️

A little seaside stay with a vibrant buzz of cool hipster restaurant glamour & the kind of room you really don’t want to leave.

Some hotels are somewhere to sleep. Others become part of the reason you went away.

Fort Road Hotel is very much the latter.

Just a few skips from Margate’s seafront, it feels intimate, stylish & beautifully considered, with only 14 individually designed rooms & a gorgeous boutique feel throughout.

If you can, go for the sea view.

There is something very lovely about waking up, making a coffee & seeing Margate’s coastline right outside your window.

Downstairs, Us @ Fort Road Hotel makes the stay even better.

From the team behind Pomus, it brings relaxed modern bistro cooking to Fort Road with a menu that feels playful, seasonal & completely unpretentious.

It is the perfect kind of restaurant for a seaside night away.

Fab food.
Funky wine.
A beautiful room waiting upstairs.

No taxi. No train. No rush.

Just dinner, perhaps a walk by the sea, & then straight back upstairs to bed.

Fort Road feels romantic without trying too hard, stylish without being showy & completely in tune with Margate. It's cool, trendy, funky & classy all at the same time.

A very lovely little escape.

❤️🌊 You’re going to LOVE this Date Night spot on the Kent coast. SAVE IT FOR LATER 📍

SEND IT to your date or mate you loves dining by the sea.

This is @pomusfolkestone where sharing is the order of the day.

In a really cool building in the creative quarter of Folkestone Chef @kierangolding and his team are serving up some blinding dishes.

We kicked off with a couple of brilliant mocktails including an amazing 0% Negroni. I’d go back just for this

We grabbed some big juicy olives and the lomo with guindillas which went nicely with the drinks and their popcorn chicken which I’ve heard loads about. It lived up to the hype too with great flavour, nice crunch and mix of spice and sweetness.

The two larger plates we got were out of this world.
Seriously good!! Whole plaice served covered in Nduja and prawns. Visually stunning and full of flavour. I’d get this again in a heartbeat.

The pork tomahawk! Wow! Unreal dish. Perfectly cooked pork, really tender with a crackling edge and a nice amount of crispy fat running through to give it so much flavour. Served in a chicken butter sauce with shallots which bring it to life even more, loved this!

The whole experience was a positive one. We really well looked after, great friendly staff, cool surroundings, a lovely range of alcohol free drinks and super tasty dishes that I’d definitely go back for.

POMUS -cool, polished & completely effortless.

Think young, stylish & effortlessly good-looking staff, but without a hint of attitude. The entire team is warm, switched-on & genuinely brilliant at making you feel welcome. They have that fashion-campaign confidence, yet the service remains relaxed & personal.

The whole place has a pulse. Moody lighting, striking interiors & a vibrant atmosphere that never feels chaotic. POMUS is polished enough for a proper night out, but never overly formal.

J.Lo, Ashanti & all the music from my childhood was played. It was pure early 2000s nostalgia & I loved it. The sort of playlist that makes you order another cocktail, then suddenly realise you have been there far longer than planned.

Chef Golding brings that same confidence & personality into the kitchen. The food feels modern, creative & completely in tune with the room. The interiors, music, service & food all share the same bold, youthful energy.

The team keeps the atmosphere lively while making every table feel looked after. It is stylish hospitality without the stiffness, cool without trying too hard & vibrant without losing its warmth.

POMUS doesn’t just feel like somewhere to eat. It feels like somewhere to be.

Restaurant: Trendy, current & lively, but in a cool & sophisticated way.

Service: Imagine Hollister models who are genuinely brilliant at hospitality. Young, stylish, warm & very very cool.

Food: Creative, confident & full of personality, with Chef Kieran Golding’s cooking perfectly matching the energy of the room.

Perfect For: Date nights, dinner with friends, great wine & a seriously good throwback soundtrack.

Michelin Guide: Not currently listed.

Price: ££ - A very accessible price point that’s suitable for the younger crowd.

Overall: Moody interiors, beautiful people & brilliant hospitality. One of Folkestone’s coolest places for a proper foodie night out.
