Took a walk down by Páirc Uí Chaoimh and along the Marina with the camera today. Came across this folly completely by accident and honestly had no idea it was there.

It’s funny how many places you can pass by without ever knowing they’re there until you slow down and have a proper look around. The walk along the Marina was really nice, and finding this tucked away made it even better.

Still figuring out what catches my eye, but I’m really happy with how these photos turned out. Definitely one of those days where bringing the camera was worth it.

Hello.. its been awhile 😅

I’ve wanted to get into photography for few years. I bought a camera, but honestly felt completely out of my depth and ended up overthinking everything.

To get past that, I took my camera with me to Fota Wildlife Park and just started shooting. I spent the day learning, making mistakes, and figuring things out as I went. Out of 300+ photos, plenty were overexposed, blurry, or just didn’t work, but that’s all part of the process. After narrowing them down, I ended up with 20 images I’m really happy with.

These are the first 5, with 3 more posts coming soon. Some shots are stronger than others, but every photo taught me something.

If you’ve got any tips or suggestions, I’m all ears 📸

That’s the last of the photos from my first trip out with the camera to Fota Wildlife Park.

Looking through everything afterwards, there were plenty of blurry shots and missed opportunities, but that’s all part of learning. I’d like to go back again at some point and see if I can come away with even better images next time.

So far, wildlife photography feels like a pretty forgiving way to learn photography, at least for me. The more time I spend behind the camera, the more I realise how much there is to learn. Hopefully in the future I’ll start getting out on more photography trips, trying different styles of photography, and photographing people as well as wildlife.

If anyone has any feedback or tips, I’m all ears.

A few more shots from my first time taking the camera out to Fota.

There’s still plenty to learn, but that’s all part of the process. Looking back through the photos, it’s been interesting to see what worked, what didn’t, and what I’d do differently next time.

These are a few more of my favourites from the day.

A few more photos from recent outings.

Still learning, still figuring things out, and still spending more time behind the camera whenever I get the chance. It’s been good to step outside my comfort zone and start a hobby I’ve wanted to get into for years.

Thanks for taking a look.
