Last month, I got to play on the set of a new Civil War epic called The Legend of Van Dorn. Union Colonel Coburn confronts the dastardly Confederate general Van Dorn himself on the battlefield. No spoilers!

Thanks to producer @dysertalan, director @theshanestanley, my agent @theavenueagency (Melinda Eisnaugle), costumer @christianmichealfashion, fight choreographer @hutchstunts, and especially @realcoachlee (Lee Wilson, who wrote the thing and played the title character) for a great time. And to the rest of the fantastic crew; special shout-outs to the on-set medic @josiah_gallagher and the horse wrangler Ron Neal @justwranglin.

These boys. Ryan and I are the luckiest to be their parents, to experience their imagination and watch them grow. What a joy to grow right alongside them, becoming the parents they need as they become themselves.

We live far from so many people we love. Part of why we take these photos is so our families, and the people who watched us grow up, can watch our boys grow, too. I love when their personalities shine through, giving the people who don’t get to see them often a little glimpse of who they’re becoming.

What an honor to be their mama and dad.

Also, gosh. So photogenic. 🤍

Got a musical kid? There’s a place for them at EAST. 🎵

Some kids find their way into music through a drum. Some can’t stop singing. Some are already making up songs in the backseat, at the dinner table, or pretty much everywhere they go.

At EAST, we want growing musicians to have room to explore, experiment, collaborate, and find their own musical voice.

And our fall music classes start THIS WEEK!

🥁 Rhythm Kids®
Thursdays at 3:30 + 4:30 PM
Drumming, singing, movement, improvisation + ensemble play.

🎵 Songmakers
Wednesdays at 4:30 PM
Songwriting, melody, rhythm, lyrics + turning big ideas into original music.

There’s still room to jump in, and you don’t need to have it all figured out before you walk through the door. Come ready to play, create, and try something new.

Your music belongs here.

Find your creative place at EAST. 💛

Back to school time!

Come take a class in how to be PRESENT.

This work changed a lot for me personally. And led to some pretty cool jobs. Right, @matt.acting.coach?

Hey. Your head can be a not-so-nice place to vibe. Get your butt out of it.

Love,
Ryan

The Art of Listening is the flagship adult class of the EAST Acting Studio. by @ryanlinkofallpeople

A creative reset for the grown-ups.

Meisner Lab is a drop-in acting practice for adults — actors, overthinkers, anyone who wants a creative room of their own. No experience required. Two and a half hours of getting out of your head and into the moment.

"I was a theatre major and I'd never learned the Meisner method. Ryan and Allison made it 'click' for me and are brilliant teachers." — Gwen Levey, Spring 2026 Cohort

Twelve seats — that's the whole room. If you've been thinking about it, this is the one to grab.

Saturday, June 27 · 3–5:30pm

Juneteenth was yesterday — June 19, marking the day in 1865 when the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas were finally told they were free, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Freedom that was law long before it was lived.

Our work is storytelling — theater, music, language — and so much of the American version of it was built and carried by Black artists. We're holding that with gratitude.

We hope you got out to some of it this weekend — a cookout, a celebration around the city, or time at home with family. Happy Juneteenth. by @ryanlinkofallpeople

Last night: in a hotel room in Atlanta.
Today: Athens, GA — shooting THE COLORS, a beautiful story by @connorpannell.
Monday night: Allison's got Meisner class covered.

Also looking for teaching artists and curriculum folks who want to help build something at @the.east.collective — DM us if that's you.

Nine years ago, Allison started Tenn Little Birds in East Nashville because she believed kids deserved a place where music wasn't a lesson — it was just what we did together.

This summer, we're building on that with EAST Collective: camps that add theater, storytelling, and art to the mix. Same philosophy. Same East Nashville community. A whole lot more room to play.

Full-day creative arts camps and half-day music camps. Ages 5–10.

We just signed the lease (!!!!) on our new 9,500 sq ft home at 805 Woodland Street — and we move in June 1. We can't wait to fill it with kids (and grown-ups!). TLB isn't going anywhere — we'll also be adding classes at the new space.

Early bird pricing — save $50 — through May 1. Link in bio to register.
