One year ago today, I experienced the scariest day of my life.

It’s not something I would wish on anyone, and I hope I never have to experience anything like it again. It was a day that changed a lot for me and taught me a lot about myself.

The past year hasn’t always been easy, but each day gets a little better. Sometimes life throws adversity your way, and you just have to keep moving forward.

Today, I’m grateful. Grateful to have a roof over my head, grateful for my amazing family and friends who helped me through everything — you all know who you are

And a huge amount of respect and appreciation goes to the firefighters who responded that night. Thank you for putting yourselves in harm’s way to help others.

One year later, I’m still here, still moving forward, and grateful for where I am today. by @ryanmelis

You know I’ve been wanting to post something like this for awhile being a 14 15 16 year old kid late 90s early 2000s especially being Canadian we were in some sort of amazing time with Canadian rock pop punk and alternative these 5 bands hold a very special place to me there still in my rotation of what I play it’s these bands that got me through the hard times and the good from getting to witness my first concert at 16 in 2001 Matthew good band treble charger to getting to see sum 41 live 2 months later to playing nhl 2002 and getting to hear gobs I hear you calling for the first time or buying our lady peace album happiness is not a fish that you can catch. I felt spoiled in a good way with kick ass music what I’m trying to say @sum41 @gobband @officialmattgood @ourladypeace thank you for being the soundtrack of what was an important time in my life and for continuing to be the soundtrack by @ryanmelis
