Husband, Father, Church Leader

Our family is on a mission to get Jesus everything He paid for. Exciting things are ahead! šŸ”„
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I’ve continued processing what’s happening in the Church over the last few years. Some of these exposures obviously hit closer to home than others. Some have been people I know and have spent time around. Some are people I recognized warning signs and communicated them to leaders in my life.

If you’re like me, you’ve felt the tension. You want justice, but you also want to stay rooted in the heart of God.

This is an unofficial part 2 to ā€œA Few Thoughts on Christian Cancel Culture & the Road Ahead.ā€

As I’ve been praying through all of this, I believe the Lord showed me that the story of David and Absalom is a prophetic picture of what the Church is walking through right now. (2 Samuel 13-19).

When leaders fail to deal with sin, it creates a vacuum.
When that vacuum exists, others step in to bring justice.

Sometimes rightly. Sometimes not.

Both can feel justified. Both can carry consequence.

These thoughts have helped me process what we’re seeing and guard my own heart in the middle of it. I’m sharing them in hopes they help you do the same. Let them challenge you like they’ve challenged me.

Let’s be a people who love justice, walk humbly, and refuse to lose mercy (Micah 6:8)

TESTIMONY TIME āŒšļø

There was a season when betrayal shattered my heart so deeply that dark thoughts of ending it all felt like the only escape.

I brought people in. I asked for help. But the torment didn’t lift.

Then in one service, the power of God hit me and everything broke.

He filled me with joy. Real joy. Holy laughter. And the heaviness left, along with the torment.

Jesus paid for continual freedom. And I am grateful for every deliverance day.

If you’re fighting in silence, you’re not alone. Reach out and I’ll pray for you.

I’ve been quietly processing the waves of exposures, accusations, and restorations we’ve seen in the Church over the last few years.

If you’re like me, you’ve probably wrestled with how to respond—with grief, questions, maybe even frustration.

These thoughts have helped me navigate each situation with both truth and humility (though I’ve had to continually check my heart). I’m sharing them in hopes they’ll help you process too. Let them challenge your heart like they have my own.

Let’s be a people who love justice, walk humbly, and never lose sight of mercy (Micah 6:8)

Today is our 13th Anniversary šŸ„‚

It’s hard to believe it’s been 13 years. On one hand, it has flown by. On the other, it feels like we’ve already lived a lifetime together.

We’ve lived in 3 states, in 8 different houses, and welcomed 4 children into the world.

We’ve experienced seasons of having little and seasons of having much.

We’ve traveled to other nations, contended for miracles, and ministered to many people.

We’ve enjoyed incredible food, gone on adventures, started and closed businesses, and continued to dream big.

We’ve worked as a team to pay off a crazy amount of debt and build a life together.

We’ve laughed together, cried together, had disagreements, and had moments where you realized I’m always right. šŸ˜‚

God gave me the greatest wife, partner, and friend for this journey.

I love you, Milca Rhodes ā¤ļø taken in Fort Worth, Texas by @ryanmrhodes

13 years ago, I said ā€œI doā€ to the love of my life and it truly has been a dream.

@ryanmrhodes, being married to you is a gift from the Lord. Before I ever met you, I prayed for you. I prayed your heart burned for Jesus, you loved to travel, you enjoyed Mexican food and you had big calves. The Lord delivered on all of it. He is so good to me! šŸ˜†

Submitting to you as your wife has been easy because you make me feel Loved and beautiful, you take good care of me and protect me. And because you’re my favorite human and best friend.

One of the things I love about you is that you are a DEEP well of wisdom and revelation. You see beyond the curtain and you know God in ways that make me hunger for more of Him.

My prayer for this next year of marriage is that we burn even more for the Lord and for each other (eyyy) šŸ˜ And that we give Jesus everything He paid for because He is so worthy! Te Amo Papi!šŸ”„

Happy Mother’s Day to the woman who gave me four beautiful children and made me a father. There’s no one I’ve learned more about parenting from. I’m constantly amazed by your patience, kindness, love, and goofiness with our kids. Honestly, I’ve never seen anyone mother better, and I’ve been around some incredible moms.

Every time I watch you with our children, I fall deeper in love with you. God has truly blessed our home with you.

@milcarhodes we adore you, and we’re so thankful God gave us you. We’d be a mess without you šŸ˜… taken in Fort Worth, Texas by @ryanmrhodes

I want to take a moment to honor this man, my amazing husband, @ryanmrhodes.

I don’t say it enough, but I am so thankful he’s the one I get to live out this God story with. Ryan works incredibly hard. He doesn’t love his job, but he shows up every single week and gives it his all and it shows. He’s become one of the best at what he does. He’s thriving in his role, and that didn’t come easy. There have been many days filled with stress (and there still are), prayer, and a whole lot of trusting God.

Because of his sacrifice, I get to stay home and homeschool our children this fall. That’s not something I take lightly, it’s a true blessing and a joy. I’m so grateful I get to cheer him on and cover him in prayer.

Ryan has passions that don’t fully align with where he is right now, but we’re in a season of tackling debt and he is focused. He shows up every day with the finish line in mind (sometimes more than me).

My Love, you are faithful, consistent, hardworking, and a real man. Thank you for working so hard for our family and for our future. I am a blessed wife and mama, and I don’t take that for granted. One day, we’ll look back on this season and see just how much these last 2.5 years have grown us.

I am SO proud of you. Ā”Te AMO con todo mi corazón! ā¤ļø by @ryanmrhodes

Happy Easter from our little family to yours šŸ¤

This Easter felt especially weighty this year. My love for Jesus has deepened more than ever.

Walking our kids into a fuller understanding of the crucifixion has added such a meaningful layer to how we connect with Him. I’m so grateful He chose me…and now I get to choose Him daily.

Jesus is the great reward.

The day after the cross…the waiting.

It’s that in-between place where everything feels still.
Where God can seem distant. Where hope feels…quiet.

But the waiting reveals something real in us, do we trust Him…or not? Because often things don’t look the way we wanted, or expected.

In the waiting, we’re faced with a choice:
Surrender the grief, the pain, the disappointment…or carry it until it wears us down.

That day, it looked like all was lost. Silence. Confusion. Grief.

But God was working.

What felt like the end…was actually the beginning of the greatest victory the world has ever seen.

So if you’re in a waiting season right now…this is your gentle reminder:

He is faithful to what He promised.
He is not done with you.
He is not distant.

Even if it doesn’t look like what you expected…keep your eyes on Him.

And in the waiting?
Eat the Word.
Fill yourself with truth. With promises. With life.

This is how you don’t just survive the waiting…you thrive in it.

Lay it ALL at His feet. The messy, the heavy, the ugly.
He can handle it. He welcomes it.

And you know what? God will finish what He started. He is always at work.

JOY COMES IN THE MORNING. ā˜€ļø by @ryanmrhodes
