Proud of these guys and their effort. Not only do they show effort and consistency inside the weight room, they attack everything outside as well. We’re just getting started! taken in APEC by @ryanperformancetraining

The numbers are moving in the right direction, but here is what the data is actually telling us about this training block ⬇️

1. Force moves first.
We’ve built the base to improve output. The strength to speed improvement ratio was about 5:1. It might seem lopsided, but speed improves in small increments. Dropping a 1-11 time by 5% is a massive win.

2. Acceleration adapts before top speed.
Acceleration is force dominant. Top speed relies heavily on tendon stiffness and elastic components, which take longer to adapt. Seeing acceleration jump first means the central nervous system and force production are trending exactly how we want.

3. Single leg growth = more than just strength.
Producing raw force on one leg is great, but the ability to stabilize and control that force? That shows major proprioceptive improvement that will translate directly to the field.

Proud of my crew for their hard work and consistency. It’s not too late to join in for phase 2! DM me for info on how to get started! taken in APEC by @ryanperformancetraining

Regaining movement quality, supporting tissue tolerance, building back the strength base, and improving structural balance in this early GPP phase.

It’s a long season and pitchers get a lot of wear and tear. Ramping these guys up to 100% pain free is a slow but worthwhile process. Excited for when we can cut them loose! taken in APEC by @ryanperformancetraining

I love this sound 🔥

A training environment that not only gets after it, but supports each other.

This tells me two things…

1. This team is going to be really good because they not only push themselves, they push each other.
2. They WANT to get better and see the fruits of their labor because their training is FUN!

Training at planet fitness can get you stronger, sure.

Crunch is going to have tons of options for machines.

Your garage gym is no doubt going to be cheap and convenient.

But what if there’s something more to training than just heavier weight and progress pics.

There’s community.

Food for thought.

Most training is built around movement. Holding a position under real effort gets skipped because it doesn’t look like much is happening.

Muscle and tendon adapt on different timelines. Explosive work builds muscle stiffness fairly fast. Tendon adapts slower and responds best to a sustained, high effort hold instead. Skip that and the muscle can outpace the tendon attached to it, a gap that’s been tied to greater strain and injury risk in athletes who jump and sprint often.

It’s not doing nothing. It’s building the part of you that has to keep up with everything else. by @ryanperformancetraining
