I’m going back to China at the end of the month, so I’ve been going through some work and thinking about the direction I want this project to go.

Portrait of Joey from a new project I’m working on back in Ireland. Joey lives a couple of doors up from us, and he’s some man to grow a cabbage 🥬. He’ll often drop one down to my mother if he has one spare.

Started working on a new project back home in Ireland, so I’ve been going through and printing some negatives from the last 15 years.

First slide is my friend Peter back in 2016. Second slide is the Fiddown Bridge in 2017. This roll wasn’t in great shape. I don’t think it was properly washed after development and had some residue on the film, but it gave some lovely colours in the print.

Spent some time at this ranch beside the Yellow River, where they teach archery on horseback. Had such a good time, I’m not sure the horse enjoyed it so much…

Evening along the Yellow River, with the last of the snow melting away. I took this while cycling along. Was too lazy to stop and get off the bike though.

To See A Thousand Miles Ahead

This was taken the day after Chinese New Year. Loads of people were down at the Yellow River setting off fireworks. Not a care in the world for this little fella. I tried to get his attention to take a picture, all I got was a glance and back he went to digging.

I wanted to share a couple more inkjet work prints from the afternoon I spent with @kentuckycarla at her home in Lexington. We talked about bluegrass, growing up in eastern Kentucky, and her dad. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

These are shot on colour film, but I couldn’t decide if I prefer the colour or black & white prints.
