After a couple of weeks of reflection it’s time for the official retirement post. I’ve loved playing this game ever since I can remember and I gave every ounce I had to it. I wore my emotions on my sleeve sometimes for good sometimes for bad, but that’s who I am and that’s how I played. It’s more than the Friday nights or the Saturday afternoons because the older I got the more I realized it’s less about the game and more about the people I did it with. Football has brought me my brothers for a lifetime, ones who will have my back no matter what, and I’ll have there’s. Choosing to be a Maverick is the best decision I ever made and the entire MavFam has changed my life for the better. We accomplished so many great things on the field and created even greater memories on and off the field. I wouldn’t change the past 5 years for anything or the people that I got to meet along with it. Though I’ll never play another snap of football, my love for this game and drive to be the best, to teach and inspire others to be great continues. It’s my time to do what I’ve always wanted to do and strive to reach my new goals of being a college football coach. by @ryanschlichte2

Been playin this game as long as I can remember. Couldn’t of asked for a better group of brothers the past 5 years at Kato. The #lastride comes to an end Saturday at a place we all knew we’d be, playin for a National Championship. 60 minutes to finish what was started long ago! taken in McKinney ISD Stadium by @ryanschlichte2
