Businesses along Madison's Williamson Street are still coping with financial loss after an encampment protesting the shooting death of Corey Ruiz deterred much of their foot traffic. Why a city plan to help them failed – and what one business is saying about it. #madison #willystreet by @ryansreports

If you feel like you’ve been seeing kangaroos and Wisconsin in the same sentence for some time now…you’re not really wrong 🦘 taken in Portage, Wisconsin by @ryansreports

People in Madison’s Marquette neighborhood are honoring the life of 38-year-old Corey Ruiz.

The man was fatally shot after a struggle with police. During the struggle, Ruiz pulled out a large fixed blade knife and an officer was injured. Madison Police Chief John Patterson says a taser was deployed but was unsuccessful.

In 2015 — Tony Robinson was fatally shot by a Madison police officer just blocks away on the same street. Many people in the neighborhood referenced Robinson’s death, saying this feels all too familiar. taken in Madison, Wisconsin by @ryansreports

I was able to meet two families who have each adopted a Ridglan Farms beagle since their release. It was so cool getting to see how they’re adjusting to their new homes. 🐶 #beagles #RidglanFarms taken in Madison, Wisconsin by @ryansreports

Another gas price story😅
Fuel prices don't just affect how much you're paying at the pump — they trickle down to everything from the food you eat to the things you do in the summer. It's been eye-opening working on these stories. by @ryansreports

It felt like meeting a celebrity 🐾 — the beagles that have made national headlines.

This beagle is just one of nearly 1,500 released from Ridglan Farms — an animal breeding and testing facility — in the Town of Blue Mounds, WI.

Today, I got to meet 10 of them now connected to experienced fosters through the Green County Humane Society. Today was one of the first days they’ve ever touched grass.

“I liken probably at least half of them will adopt once they fall in love,” said Erin Emery, the shelter’s executive director. “I tell people all the time, once you bring an animal into your home that is in need, that needs the rescuing; when you gain that trust, I mean, they pay it back to you in everything that you could possibly want from an animal.” 🐾 taken in Monroe, Wisconsin by @ryansreports

Wisconsin you never fail to surprise me — Kangaroo Chesney escaped from his enclosure Wednesday morning in rural Necedah. There have been multiple sightings — including on drones — of Chesney, but they have yet to nail him down. I had the chance to meet Debbie Marland, Chesney’s owner and the owner of Sunshine Farm, and meet the animals she clearly loves so much. The last photo is with Chesney’s brother Kenny — not Chesney.
