Grandpa gave Grandmom this cookie as a Valentine’s Day gift in 1942 prior to serving in the Navy during WWII. “Be My Valentine” it once (and still sorta…) reads. Perhaps it was the handmade cookie, or maybe just his warm spirit/thoughtfulness and handsome smile, but this beautiful valentine ended up being his loving wife for more than 70 years. She kept this cookie from their sophomore year of high school and showed us for the first time today after his memorial service. Here’s to you and Grandmom for experiencing something rare and almost unimaginable for our generation. Your legacy of kindness, love and integrity lives on - and you might be in the Guinness Book of World Records for the Oldest Valentine’s Day Cookie! We love you Grandpa! by @ryanweaverlife

Special birthday wishes to Milton Orris, one of the greatest mentors I’ve had along this wild ride!
