[Critica] is a collection born from a renewed recognition of the fundamental purpose behind the existence of ryaw. Through the interaction between “what has been” and “what is yet to come,” the collection pursues a purity of form that emerges through this continuous movement between past and future. While affirming the path of our previous creations, the introduction of a new perspective allows the garments to transcend the maker’s internal impulse, giving rise to clothing that looks toward a presence beyond the self. The Aestheticization of the Negative A narrow, deep groove originally a structural byproduct has been repurposed into a secret pocket. Instead of attempting to eliminate an issue that arose, we chose to find meaning in it. The zipper pull features a magnetic element, allowing for easy access to items stored within the pocket.
