A beautiful milestone to celebrate, our 700th number comes from an artist we’ve long been looking up to and whose cross-curricular approach matches that of RYC’s scope-widening vista effortlessly. Whether you find her pushing the boundaries of techno solo, shifting angles and perspectives with LADA together with Lars Hemmerling, or steering crowds into ecstasy via her Berghain event series, Hunger to Create, Dasha Rush is the kind of artist who simply can’t rest on her laurels, rather feeling the urge to explore and question the status quo constantly. Recorded in the same genre-unbound, free-flowing mindset, her RYC mix tackles kindred source material with raw, hi-octane NRG and pure, innovative brains and groove erudition. Expect a rugged avalanche of warped textures, seething machine funk and layered, cross-dimensional synthesis. A mind-bending jaunt across asymmetrical techno landscapes. Here’s to many more. by @ryc.official

Back to Bassiani for our third takeover on June 26, the RYC armada is coming in force with a quintet of artists bound to wreak havoc across the rooms. Versatile and poised, the team will be laying down a full night of equally cerebral and physical sound waves. Local player HVL will give us a glimpse into his escapological headspace, opening windows onto uncharted extraterrestrial scapes, alien-engineered machine funk and eerie zero-G atmospheres. French techno producer Kangding Ray will treat us to one of his highly sophisticated sets, which promises to highlight complex sonic constructions and dynamic swells of analogue minimalism. Championing seamless, hi-velocity techno narratives, Tresor resident and Unrush mastermind Mareena will bring her deft touch, laser big-room vision and wide-ranging selections to the table, unfolding one of her typically propulsive, uplifting sets. All in with the nonformulaic, mind-bending blends, UK wizard Rhyw will provide cascades of wonky bars, surrealistic firepower and warped electronics all set at knocking the dancers’ senses askew. Last but not least, Tbilisi’s Zitto will have us dive into a kaleidoscope of mystique-imbued grooves, abrasive EBM punch and playful acid squelch gone astray. taken in BASSIANI by @ryc.official

On the eve of May Day, test your stamina with a wild bunch of talents locked and loaded to wreak havoc across the dancefloor: The night will kick off under the hypnotic onslaughts of Dutch DJ Julie’s laser-like selection, treating dancers to some of her trance-inducing buildups, somewhere at the confluence of tribal-informed dubs and proper strapping big-room maneuvers. Roman Berliner Costanza will pick up the torch, storming in with a whirlwind of dynamic blends and square-shouldered, groovy rollers. Deep diving into the most obscure, sepulchral end of the techno spectrum, Reclaim Your City alum Hitam will join in, followed by Ruben Ganev, fresh off his debut solo release on RYC’s newly-minted sub-label, will close out night with a mix of abrasive club weaponry, atmospheric swings and post-industrial brutalism. taken in Berghain / Panorama Bar by @ryc.official

Bound to break the new year in with all our might, we are excited to unveil our new baby, RYCX. Expanding the scope of our main catalogue to bottle what we consider pure techno quality with its idiosyncrasies and inherent untamedness, RYCX will serve as our platform of choice to embrace the more minimalist, dubby vibe of techno, focussing on tracks that sound more like a rabbit hole, trippier, psychedelic, and immersive, yet still powerful enough to fill a dance floor.

Kicking off the journey is ‘RYCX01‘ by Ruben Ganev, up with his debut solo release after contributing a track to our 2023-issued ‚Heimat’ VA. The music here featured packs the very defining qualities RYCX aims to engage its audience with: a raw, inspired, quality-driven combination of force and thoughtfulness, ruggedly honest yet built to meet the expectations of the most picky dance floors and home listeners out there. Ganev’s quartet of stormy churners, cut from the most hypnotic cloth and eerily vibrant machine funk, has us diving deep into a throbbing furnace of charred dubs, steely industrial reliefs and post-apocalyptic atmospheres. A most fitting manifesto in sound, telling the beads of the sonic revolution in march.

ADE is back and RYC will be taking over the Clone Pop-up Store on 24 October with a mighty strike force including fellow alums Vril, Deniro, Julie and Arthur Robert. Responsible for a killer split offering with HVL last year, Vril will bring his stocky yet nostalgic techno touch for what should be an interesting in-store communion. Another label contributor and not the least, our dear friend Deniro will be gearing up for a display of the surgical grooves and further abstract floor narratives he’s come to master. Surefire Dutch groove manipulator Julie will be playing a vinyl set for the occasion, showcasing the breadth and scope of her impeccable DJing style, while Vienna’s Arthur Robert completes the picture, and shall give us a compelling glimpse into his complex, widescreen vision and sound. A no-miss event for any ADE attendee and RYC lover, so come join us for some quality time with the choicest of hosts and some of the best names in the game, no less. Mountains of fun shall be had, so better not sleep on this one!

Brace yourselves for a breakneck ride this month as our longtime friends and distributor Clone hijack RYC frequencies with a massive takeover for the whole month of October.

Breaking this four-part installment in, Amsterdam’s Afra cuts in with two-hours of old-school Detroit electro vibrations, hi-velocity breaks and future-facing floor narratives beckoning us onto a whole distinct dimension entirely.

Taking the helm for the second number in Clone’s October takeover, here goes the mastermind himself, Serge with an ever epic selection of hard-nosed bangers and boundary-pushing ordnance. Having built an absolute monument to electronic music in the broadest, most widely eclectic sense of the term, Serge remains a driving force without equivalent both within and well beyond the borders of Netherlands.

Third artist to grace us in this Clone-curated month of October, The Hague’s one-and-only analogue wizard Legowelt surfaces with a mix sprawling from esoteric proto-techno to hallucinogenic electro, via trance-infused dreamscapes, eerie pop and mystique-imbued downtempo. As the true master of the synths he is, Legowelt has us traveling far and deep into a layered multiverse of dazzling hardware stutter and iridescent machine funk out a frizzling, VHS-supported headspace.

Bringing this month of Clone-ruled brilliance to a closure, legendary German act The Exaltics treat us to a face-melting avalanche of abrasive kick-n-snare-heavy assault and future-proof sound engineering. Championing that no-surrender electro pulse and the same acid-soaked dystopian atmospheres that innervate their whole discography, the two-hour set here presented showcases the uncompromising nature of The Exaltics sound: both rugged to the core and infinitely complex in its musical phrasing. by @ryc.official

Joining forces on a split truly like no other, Japanese maestro Wata Igarashi and Munich’s own multi-faceted genius Polygonia step up with the magnetic ‘Cross Passage’ - a four-track journey at the junction of their respective universes, teleporting us straight to a propulsive, mind-expanding headspace as we’re invited to explore sonic territories still uncharted and harmonics yet unravelled.

The collaborative A-side begins with the dynamic title-track, ‘Cross Passage’ (1), a proactively future-facing number packing the kind of utopian drive that used to define the original techno sound. A highly cinematic narrative boasting Detroit-style vision and epic breath, ‘Cross Passage’ builds bridges between hi-tech elation and organic integration, transcending mere functionality to push back and expand the limits of techno as a deep communication vessel between the individual and the mass. Firing off like a binary script gone astray, ‘Fibre Axis’ (2) takes us on a further bumpy ride across shape-shifting interfaces and blurred-out digital scapes, via abrupt pixel landslides and fractured 3D renderings.

Side-B finds each producer dishing out a slice of his/her own musical idiom. Polygonia strikes first with the pulsating ‘Voltage Blues’ (3) - a mesmeric roller cut from pure eerie synth algebra, boundary-pushing abstraction and surgical but experimental-leaning rhythmic assault. The result is a piece of cutting-edge techno hoodoo, ready to take on clubs with utmost abrasive swagger. Sniping a hail of rainbow-like analogue synth outpour, Wata Igarashi’s solo contribution ’The Tunnel Dreams’ (4) rounds off the journey on a fiercely nonconformist note. Merging a hard-hitting main swing with 8-bit-esque audio pointillism and brooding bass undertones, the Japanese producer cuts a path of antigravitational abandon and relentless rush towards absolving euphoria, which shall leave all in the room levitating somewhere between sheer daze and love-thirsty XTC. by @ryc.official

A few months after our successful Saüle debut, here we go again for a second round of genre-busting, boundary-pushing sonic exploration. Embracing the Idea of techno as a means of transcending our condition, both as conscious and subconscious beings, this series offers a platform for artists to express themselves with enhanced scope and purpose. For this second installment which will take place on 5 June, RYC invites a trio of musicians who’ve been pushing the envelope of techno and electronics to a broader extent. A name synonymous with bold dynamics and cutting-edge approach, London-based producer Jin Synth will take us on a mind-bending ride down her intricate rhythmic algebra and layers of hypnotic, otherworldly sonics. A jack-of-all-trades whose hybrid, unhindered vision for music has driven to all ends of the techno spectrum, the one and only DJ Pete will join us for a hectic parade of breaks-laden, bass-heavy weapons and dubbed-out tangents. Chief explorer of lushly textured folds and immersive cinematic arcs, dub techno maestro Magna Pia will take over the decks for one of those moments on the dance floor when functional innovation fuses with multi-sensory exaltation. taken in Berghain / Panorama Bar by @ryc.official

Fuelled on a furnace-hot mix of abstract-leaning immersion and hi-octane rhythmic thrust, Peter Van Hoesen newest four-track piece, ‘Prime Directive’ looks at contemporary techno from the angle of experimentation and intuitive abandon. The result comes in the form of four distinct movements, each carving out their own logic and associated behaviour out an endless pool of potentialities.

‘Definition by Absence’ (1) breaks the trip in to the sound of a faux-random symphony: its train-like swing and fiery bass seesaw coalesce through an elliptic fluttering of sorts, iterative and not, patterns moving in and out of synchronicity as Van Hoesen applies more or less pressure on both ends. All in gusty in-your-face-ness, ‘Variables Edit 1’ (2) whirls and swirls like an ominous vengeance of nature; Its puncturing kicks and whistling menace set against stellar winds and rabid machinery on the prowl for its next victim.

An even more unsettling piece of disjointedly arrhythmic, anti-club music for the dance floor, ‘Prime Directive’ (3) will have you zoning out like a bad dream, flush with metronome-faced monsters and molten clocks hanging from dead trees. ‘Morphology’ (4) could be PVH’s attempt at giving his concepts a carnal carcass to hold onto. Here, rhythm becomes somewhat less erratic, offering his 360-degree vision more melodic surface and actual room for dispersion. One to keep the boundaries pushed and status-quo challenged, this is techno at its most entrancingly bold and fearless.

Out on April 14th through Reclaim Your City, ‘Prime Directive’ comes draped in a fine piece of artwork courtesy of Atact, and pressed according to our standards in 180g audiophile quality so you get to experience the Belgian master’s chiselled sound design in all its unadulterated, visceral glory. by @ryc.official
