One of my matches from my gold win at Leicester Grappling.

John Wayne sweep > half guard > pass into full mount > chair sit > armbar.

Got two really controlled submissions. 0 points scored against me.

Enjoyable roll with a blue belt who has 8 legs and arms. Super strong and flexible.

Shows my weaknesses with framing and giving up bad positions. (This is from November—I was 2 months in)

Even in February, I still can’t get the underhook hahaha.

First ever BJJ competition as a white belt.

Here’s everything I learned:

→ I have a long way to go.

→ Loved the entire thing.

→ Lots of good people out there.

→ Losing has showed my weaknesses.

LDN Grappling Industries. All in all, solid day. 2 wins (walkovers) and 2 losses (points).

I held my own though and didn’t panic in typical spazzy white belt fashion.

🎥 Day 17/100: Finding something difficult to do.

Last year I found Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I was scared to join. I didn’t know if I was too old or too broken to do it.

The first day I was due to go, I backed out.

The next time was different. I hyped myself up and I’m so glad that I did. The guys at @stronghold.jiujitsu have absolutely had a huge impact on my mental health and fitness.

I thought I was fit before… I was so wrong. Point it: it’s difficult for me. It’s hard. But I love every second.

And that’s a wrap on Thailand. ❤️

The most amazing place I’ve ever visited. Nothing even comes close. The food, the people, the beaches, the weather.

Possibly the nicest 3 weeks of my 31 years on this little ball of floating rock in the sky.

This is a once in a lifetime trip. I don’t think I’ll ever come back but the memories of this place will stay with me forever.

First trip of 2023. ✅

Glad we got to drink cocktails, and get away from our house for a week.

Working from my laptop is the best thing to do. After 3 years of working in the same 4 walls, it starts to grind on your mental health.
