We were so delighted to be featured in the most fabulous window illustration @ryderandhope drawn by artist and ceramicist @linzi_west featuring a beautiful golden mermaid. She is adorned with @cabinetjewellery shell inspired beachcomber studs and our beachcomber talisman necklace as she stretches across the shop front filled with treasures, welcoming all who pass by into the boutique for the summer ahead. taken in Ryder&Hope by @ryderandhope

We’re so delighted to finally share the beautiful mermaid that the wonderfully talented Linzi West has painted on our shop window.

Linzi has been part of the Ryder & Hope story from the very beginning. Her whimsical, hand-painted face pots have watched over the shelves of the shop since we first opened eleven years ago, each with its own personality and charm. Her work has always had a magical quality to it, somewhere between folklore and Bloomsbury, and we’ve loved having it around us.

At the beginning of the year, we asked Linzi if she would create a mermaid for our window. The result is this beautiful girl, adorned with gold leaf, drifting across the glass wearing one of @cabinetjewellery’s Beachcomber shell necklaces as she swirls around Alice’s scallop shell wreath. She catches the changing light throughout the day and somehow makes the whole shop feel just that little bit more magical.

To celebrate the mural, we also asked Linzi to make a small collection of mermaid plates and platters, each one handmade and individually painted, so that if you fall in love with the mermaid in the window, you can take a little piece of that magic home with you.

They’re now in the shop, waiting to find their own homes.

We’re huge fans of @lovefromlexi, who has created some truly inspired designs for us over the years.

We just have to share with you her latest illustration of one of Lyme Regis’ most iconic buildings, Belmont House.

Lexi has turned this design of Belmont House into a beautiful greetings card, exclusively available in-store and online at Ryder & Hope.

The beautiful pink house at the top of Cobb Road, once home to writer John Fowles. It has now been carefully restored by @landmarktrust to its Regency appearance and remains a local historical site overlooking the harbour.

Clean and simple is our mood in store! We're loving the garland colours that pop beautifully, brightening up these grey days.

We are open Thur to Mon in Jan, using the downtime to prep for the season.
Next task, which colours will we choose for the shop next season?
