A few impressions from along the way. I took some videos during the race and left the original audio in on purpose. No trending music, just the race as it actually sounded and felt.

At around 100 kg, I’m probably not the textbook ultra runner. And there were definitely people who questioned whether this was something I should be doing.

Fair enough.

But you can analyze the distance, elevation, splits, numbers and probabilities forever. At some point, you still have to go out there and find out for yourself.

The spreadsheet doesn’t run the race for you.

And somewhere along the way, I even found another fellow 100 kg runner, @peter1esler 😂 Two muscular guys just out there getting it done.

I went out, had fun, ran my own race, kept moving and finished something I’m genuinely proud of.

Not every challenge needs to look like a guaranteed win before you start. Sometimes the whole point is simply having the balls to try. 🏔️

Fueling and hydration finally felt completely dialed in this race. The Precision Fuel setup worked perfectly, energy stayed stable, no cramps, and I was still smiling at the final aid station around kilometer 45 😄

Not everything went smoothly though. One of my soft flasks exploded mid-run and covered me in sticky carb mix after losing a ton of fluid. Then at km22 I snapped my Leki poles completely in half after tripping on technical terrain 😅 Thankfully I had backup poles waiting at the aid station and Martin helped fix them quickly.

Huge thank you to @idarosek for supporting me at every single aid station throughout the entire race. Honestly could not have done this one without her 🫶🏻💛

Finished 7th in M30 and 36th overall out of 100 finishers. Definitely one of the toughest and most rewarding races I’ve done so far 🔥

Looking forward to the next one. Coming soon 👀

From 120kg to 99.5kg, no magic, just mindset, movement & showing up 💪🏽
Still on the journey, but proud of how far I’ve come ✌🏽

First trail marathon in the books ✅
45 km (28 mi) with 2,000 m (6,560 ft) of elevation, official time 5:49 ⏱ (Strava 5:41) – goal of sub-6 crushed 💪🏼 @trailmarathonheidelberg

Feeling incredibly thankful for my friends and family, near and far, who supported me through the training and prep. Your encouragement made every climb and every mile possible 🙏🏼

Proud of this milestone and already excited for the next big trail adventure. This is only the beginning 🏔✨

INFINITE TRAILS 45K — Bad Gastein 2026 ⛰️🇦🇹

~45 KM | ~3,200 M+ | 7:59:33
146 / 232 overall | 112 / 163 men
100 KG Club 💪🏻

Went into this one with the goal of racing smart and hopefully breaking 8 hours. Finished in 7:59:33 - 27 seconds to spare. The last few kilometers turned into an absolute battle. I knew sub-8 was still possible, so I basically fought for my life and sprinted everything I had left to the finish line. Somehow, it was enough.

My HR was a little harder to control in the beginning, which made more sense when I woke up sick the next day. Once things settled, I felt strong throughout, stayed patient on the big climbs and still had enough left when it mattered.

Fueling worked really well: ~120–140 g carbs/hour (~128 g/h average) with Precision Fuel, plus around 1,500 mg sodium/hour. Energy stayed consistent and my stomach felt good all day (well, until the very end).

Really happy with how everything came together. Not too bad for the 100 KG Club. ⛰️🐐

Thanks @infinitetrailsrace for an incredible race and @bergziegenhd for all the training, kilometers and good times along the way. 🫶🏻 by @ryseandrun

Fun was one word for it.💀

Have you ever done a performance test, or are you still training based on your watch? 👇

A huge thank you to @hdperformance_sports for taking the time to explain every result and making the science easy to understand. Looking forward to putting it all into practice. 👊

One more reason to choose the trails ⛰️🏃🏽

When did being alone stop feeling lonely?

Most people think solitude means isolation.

For me, it became something completely different. It became clarity. No pressure to perform. No forced conversations. Just enough silence to hear my own thoughts again.

Maybe protecting your peace isn’t selfish.
Maybe it’s necessary.

I’ve learned something:

The people who spend the most time talking about you usually spend the least time working on themselves.

See you on the next run. 🤝

The Himmelsleiter x 10 Challenge‼️, or “Stairway to Heaven”, is one of the steepest and most iconic climbs in Heidelberg.

📍 Himmelsleiter (Stairway to Heaven)
🪜 ~1,200 steps
📏 ~0.7 km / 0.4 mi
🏔️ ~300 m / 984 ft climbed per ascent
⛰️ Königstuhl Summit: 567 m / 1,860 ft above sea level

🔁 10 laps
📏 30 km / 18.6 mi
🏔️ 3,000 m / 9,843 ft of elevation gain
🪜 ~12,000 steps

This challenge was inspired by @nannaspirgath (10x🪜) & @andre.loeffelmann (15x🪜) 🙏🏻🙏🏻 thanks for the fun idea 💪🏻

I ran down the forest road instead of the stairs between climbs. Safer, easier on the legs, and it turns the challenge into the perfect combination of uphill strength, downhill trail running, time on feet, fueling, and fatigue resistance.

Been doing a lot of these exercises already, but decided to finally dedicate an entire day to trail durability 🏔️

Alongside the daily morning mobility work, the focus lately has been less ego lifting and more building a body that can actually handle long days on the trails. Even cooler that I can do it all in my home gym. 💪🏻
