Womena’s immersive exhibition, curated by creative producer and writer Rythma Ekanayake (@rythmae), explores how women are empowered through creativity and design. The showcase features projections on loofah, by Noor Taan (@lifeofloofah) transforming them into textured canvases for audiovisual storytelling, alongside a VR experience by Solenne Tadros (@solenneternet) and an interactive poetry segment by Amira Salah-Ahmed (@amiralx).

This exhibition invites you to engage deeply with the stories of Life of Loofah, Kilma, and Solenne Tadros. Discover powerful narratives that celebrate women’s self-expression and resilience.

Dubai Design Week is held in strategic partnership with @d3dubai, a member of TECOM Group PJSC, and supported by @dubaiculture.

What does it mean to belong to a place that is constantly shifting?

In this new trilogy of “Everything Has Changed,” we head to Amman, Jordan, where memory, migration and identity collide. 🇯🇴

This documentary series explores life in Jordan amid war, resource scarcity and ongoing displacement in the region, and how these factors reshape the social fabric and creative expression in the capital. We follow voices as they preserve memory, archive lived experiences and shape new forms of resistance.

Everything Has Changed is a docu-series exploring how our lives have shifted over the past decade, the realities we still carry and the new narratives we are shaping.

Episodes drop weekly starting May 5.

Mirella Atallah, Lebanon’s first Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, has dedicated her work to using sport as a tool for empowerment, particularly among girls in Palestinian refugee camps like Burj el Barajneh and Nahr Al Bared, where daily life is shaped by overcrowding, restriction, and insecurity.

In an environment where girls face harassment, limited freedom of movement, and social norms that encourage silence and invisibility, this often leads to a deep disconnection from their own bodies. Through her self defense program, Mirella creates a space where they begin to rebuild that connection, starting with simple movements and gradually learning to set boundaries, use their voice, and feel grounded in themselves, offering not just practical safety skills but a sense of agency and self worth that extends beyond the training space.

COMING SOON: A new Everything Has Changed documentary series

In our previous trilogies of Womena’s YouTube series “Everything Has Changed”, we followed artists and communities across Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Cairo, exploring the questions that haunt the diaspora returning to their ancestral homes and the shifts reshaping creative landscapes across the Arab world.

We uncover how these artists and communities navigate change, craft new narratives, and redefine freedom in music, collaboration, and expression.

Can you guess which country Womena is traveling to this time? Write to us in the comments. 💬 by @rythmae
