“Even when Lydia closes her eyes, the stains still creep into her nostrils.” (Link in bio for full entry)

Playing with Spiders has clawed at my heart for many years. In past lives, this project began as a feature screenplay which spun off into a short film I directed while struggling with my own demons—art imitating life more than I realized at the time.

In its rebirth as a novel, I’m proud of this first page, and can’t wait to share the rest 😇

I’m honored PWS made the top 2% of all entries in @joandempseyauthor Gutsy Great Novelist’s “Page One Prize” competition as part of the 14 honorable mentions in the top 20 of 969 submissions. Congratulations to the other HM’s as well as the winners!! 🥳

This book was a great reminder of how happy I am to have a loving and supportive relationship with my mom who is not a cannibal! 🥰 Gonna need to call her after this one 😅 “The Lamb” is a queer Gothic character-driven slow burn horror with short chapters that had me up late a few nights in a row. It’s gruesome and haunting with folklore at its heart and a bittersweet ending. One of my favorite settings is secluded cottage in the forest and this book delivered! 🌲

The cover of this book is to die for 😍

“Knives Out” but horror and the family is way more messed up 😂 this book was a lot of fun and had me guessing until the end what was going to happen. It’s a locked room mystery where not everyone survives and I definitely agree…those people should’ve been nicer to the mom!! 🤷‍♀️

A satirical body horror with complex characters and an excellent opportunity to support women’s wrongs. I was immediately on board from cannibalism and rituals 🤩 also loved the discussion about what it means to be a “good feminist.” Yes, eating and feminism are related 😋 Loved this book!

This book hits hard! 🔥 this was my first ever arc so I’m beyond excited to share how much I loved it 🤩

First of all, the cover is gorgeous. The cult lore and family dynamics are complex and rich, creating an immersive world. The cult/family aspect and tone of this book remind me a lot of “Black Sheep” by Rachel Harrison, and the epic trials have the intensity of “Hunger Games” and Goblet of Fire. I really enjoyed the escalating tension/stakes, and the deep dive of the cult’s folklore. @charliewriteshorror expertly weaves between heart-wrenching relationships, cool magic systems, and immersive battles; her writing had me hooked! I really want to give Quinn a hug after having to endure such a strained relationship with her mom 😭. I highly recommend snagging a copy when it releases!

Last night was pizza and escape night with my favorite person @minerpoker 🥰

This one was a lot of fun and kept us busy for about three hours! We still needed some hints and felt bad when we had to cut/bend/write on a game piece 😂 but I definitely recommend checking out the Exit brain-puzzle games at @thamesandkosmos
