Three bands. One room. One night.

Saturday, 3rd October, 2 Pints starts something new. Come Together — a night of live music with the bands a few feet from the room, and this is the first one.

Rzhude & Bruce — @rzhude, @bruceleemani
Aaruvian & The Circus — @aaruvian, @thechronicbluescircus

One into the next, from 7 pm onwards. Come early, pick a seat, settle in — the music runs through the night.

Nandini tai taught the children a beautiful bandish in Raag Bhairav, gently breaking down the words and guiding them through its ten-beat rhythm. What was especially lovely was watching her move so effortlessly from performer to teacher—slowing down, repeating, listening and encouraging until everyone found their way into the music.

She brought out participation from all the children and adults with such warmth and ease, making the music feel playful, accessible and joyful. And perhaps that is what makes Home At Last concerts so special—they are not just about listening to beautiful music, but about creating moments where artists and children meet, learn, participate and experience music together.

It was a beautiful morning of music, connection and shared learning. by @rzhude

HOME AT LAST #10

We’re delighted to welcome Nandini Bedekar ji to Home At Last.

A senior vocalist of the Jaipur-Atrauli tradition, Nandini ji’s music carries a rare depth, warmth and unhurried beauty. Her musical journey has been profoundly shaped by her association with Gaansaraswati Kishori Amonkar.

She will be accompanied by our dear friends Karthik Bhat ji on tabla and Tejas Katoti ji on harmonium, both of whom have shared their music with us at Home At Last before.

A morning of music, friendship, and the joy of listening together.

Home At Last #9 was a morning where rhythm found its many voices.

With Giridhar Udupa on the ghatam, Keshav Mohankumar on the violin, and Anirudha S. Bhat on the mridangam, we were taken on a journey through melody, silence, improvisation, and exhilarating rhythmic conversations. Every phrase was met with another, every pause held anticipation, and every crescendo reminded us why live music is best experienced together.

There was virtuosity, certainly—but what lingered even longer was the joy of listening: musicians listening deeply to one another, and an audience listening with them.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, filling our home once again with music, warmth, and community. Until the next Home At Last. by @rzhude

Every rhythm has a voice. In Carnatic music, that voice is Konnakol.

Konnakol is the art of speaking rhythm—where intricate patterns are recited through rhythmic syllables instead of being played on an instrument. Long before they reach the hands, rhythms are first given breath and language, making the invisible architecture of music audible.

These spoken patterns often culminate in a Korvai—a beautifully crafted rhythmic composition that brings an improvisation to its graceful conclusion. Built with precision, symmetry, and imagination, a korvai returns unerringly to the samam (the first beat of the rhythmic cycle), creating that deeply satisfying moment when every musician lands together as one.

In Carnatic music, rhythm is never merely counted. It is spoken, shared, and finally resolved—with the elegance of a well-told story. by @rzhude

In Carnatic music, this rhythmic conversation is known as Tani Avartanam.

More than a percussion solo, it is a dialogue woven in rhythm. The mridangam speaks first, offering a phrase; the ghatam, kanjira, morsing, and other percussionists answer, echo, challenge, and complete each other’s thoughts. What begins as individual voices gradually transforms into a shared language, each beat building upon the last.

A reminder that the most beautiful conversations aren’t always spoken. Sometimes, they’re played. by @rzhude

Some evenings stay with us long after the last note fades.

Why Music Moves Us at @sabhablr brought together music, science, and philosophy in a conversation that reminded us that music is far more than sound—it is a language that connects us to ourselves, to one another, and to something greater.

Through diverse perspectives, beautiful performances, and a deeply engaging dialogue, our panel explored how music shapes emotion, memory, healing, identity, and the human experience itself. It was an evening filled with curiosity, reflection, and genuine connection.

Our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible panelists @rzhude , @vasundharadas , @sonumslt , and @shashwati_34 for sharing your artistry, wisdom, and unique perspectives so generously. You made the evening truly unforgettable.

To everyone who joined us, thank you for being part of this shared exploration. Conversations like these remind us that art isn't simply something we experience—it is something that helps us understand what it means to be human.

Here's to many more evenings where music continues to move us. ❤️
